Fentyl Patch/ Cold Turkey Survivor

I came looking last night and found all of you. A man of faith, Lady something, I was horrified for what you were going through. My deepest and sincere love go out to all of you. Im doing it! Its not pretty or easy...and if you dont have a support group in your home 24/7 you wont make it so dont try. I dont recommend this to anyone nor do I condem anyone that stays on to avoid the withdrawl. Its hell for sure. Today i thought I would sieze. My jaw felt like it was locked and I had trouble speaking. I was shaking so badly I could not walk nor do anything. No one told me The patch was an opiate. I suffered from chronic intestinal blockage for ten years. Massive pain I tell you. Recently a hero of mine put balloons in my intestines...hence why I no longer need the patch. I thought ok 3 days and im off right? Its been awful. Though it served its purpose and I am gratful I still think I should have been informed what it would do later on. I was on 100 every two days for a little over 6 months. You will surive. Wether you need to taper or go a different route. have faith in yourself. Dont feel guilty either. You will get there and I believe in you. I found this other website that gives good info on the patch too. Ill include it if will let me. I am taking oxycodone (percoset generic) and benedril to help. They keep the worst at bay. I am NOT telling you to do what I am doing! Consult with your doctor!!! I didnt and that is why my exp was so awful, the pain doc dismissed me cause i did cold turkey so my primary I know will help more tomorrow. I feel that pain doc is just about a drug pursher who doesnt inform people but i digress and ramble. some days are better but I am on my way. Last night you were there for me. I hope in some way this will help you. I believe in you....you will get there and off of them and it may take longer but you will. I know you can do it. Im not sure if tomorrow will be like today. Every hour is different. I sometimes get so scared i cant stop crying, other times I can make coffee for my bf and slowly walk around the house. Its now day 3 for me btw.
best wishes to all of you.
again thank you for being there in the night.
p.s. i will try and remember to come back when all is done and post some more. keep the vigil going...help eachother....your doing great.

big love to you all
-M

Well I have  limmited knowledge. I work for a neruologist.  the only thing you do have to watcth out for is if you put the patch ob then go outside and get sweaty, things like cutting crass on a riding lawmovur , things like that casue the medication to withdraw quicker and you can overdose on it and made you sick

Just want you to know you are not alone! I don't have advice for you, but I tried the patch and it was bad for me so I didn'tstay with it very long. One mistake I made was I was also on a heating pad, it seemed like the whole patch went in me fast and I went into a narcotic haze which I didn't want. Other than that they fell off, so I used a band aid to keep it on, again the rubbing and all to place it and such dumped a bunch of fentanyl in me and I hated it. I had a colon burst in 1995 and got a colostomy for 2 months, but thank God I had it reversed. People have no Idea how important the colon is till they have a very serious problem. Good luck to you, you will make it if you want to
