In Need of Moral Support

I am an addict on my 2nd relapse.  Started taking lortab again for a bum shoulder in Feb.  Like any addict I cannot take as prescribed and have managed to work myself up to taking 10 lortab 10s every 3 hours for the last month.  I want out of this!!! over the last 2 days, i have weaned to 7 lortab 7.5 every 6 hours.  I know its what i want to do, but i'm so damn terrified of the withdrawls!!!  To top it off I have no one to confide in for fear they will be too disappointed.  I have been lying to them for the last 4 months.

Yes i was taking 10 pills (10mg lortab) at a time every three hours.  Would not use during the night.  But bet your buns I'd wake up and first thing is pop some-still do.    Today i am down to 5 pills (7.5mg lortab) at a time and taking every 6 hours.  Not enough to get high, but enough to stay out of w/d.  So, to answer to your question, the pills are not as strong, and I have cut my use in half and the frequency in half.  I was taking at least 60 pills (10mg) a day; I am now taking 15 tablets a day. (7.5mg)  I really wanted to wean down to 3 tablets every 6 hours today, but I wasn't strong enough.  I can tell I'm w/d though.  Every little thing I want to cry.  Emotions are a roller coaster.  Anxious as hell.  yesterday I had to take a 1/2 xanax to cope.  but have not taken any today.  Wish I had a weeks worth of vacation time available.  I'd quit cold turkey and get it over with.  but do not have that luxury right now.  That's why i decided to try weaning.

I really appreciate all of your support here.  It is nice to have someone to confide in and not be judged.  THANKS!!

Glad u are here....you can do this again..Relapse is a part of recovery..Also confused about the amount this time, u mean you are taking 10 pills every 3 hours this time? then weaned yourself to 7 every 6 hours?  that is great that you are tapering///
but how many per day?  I would think you are not taling about nite time?
If you are strong enough to taper then it will be so much easier with w/d's
we have all been there, so stay with us and hopefully we can help

I think you will find that the people on here are so supportive, and you can rely on them for anything.  I don't even consider using because I don't want to let my friends on here down and I don't want to be a hypocrite.

Keep working at it, sobriety is AWESOME!!!

You really can do this! Yes w/d are no fun, but you do live through them. Compare it to a really bad flu or food poisoning. It last 5-7 days for the severe part. Some people are doing ok at day 5 but each one is different.

Just keep telling yourself you can do this and it will be all worth it.  I read sooooo much early in my w/ds and posted i thought i was going to go blind but it helped.  The week or two out of my life was well worth it.  I am enjoying life and getting back in to the swing of things.  Relationships are mending and i finally got to have my grandson for 4 whole days.  This is worth it.  There is a TON of support here and we will help you get thru this.  sara

Thank you!! that is what i really need to hear right now.  I did see the thomas recipe and have the clonidine and xanax but the vitamins and minerals make sooo much sense!  Last time the clonidine, xanax and immodium were a big help but I've never taken as much lortab as i did this time.  It always gets worse every single time.  I hope this will be my last time.
Thanks again!
