Thank you for your reply. I really hope this works for you too. Please keep me posted on how you are doing.
I do have SLE and fibro, am taking Cymbalta x 2 daily, still do not feel 100% with the depression but am better. The LDN is so very interesting, I think it could help so very many people!! Thank you for posting!
Ella
It is manufactured in 50 mg tablets and also an injectible extended release formula for treating alcohol dependence. It's use in lower doses is relatively new and not yet profitable to mass manufacture. It is gaining popularity for off label use in low doses of 1.75mg to 4.5mg for treating MS, CFS, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, and some cancers and more recently an antidepressant.
The low dose formulation can be prepared by a compounding Pharmacy or by dissolving a 50 mg tablet in 100 ml. distilled water so that each 1ml contains .5 mg of Naltrexone. I am thinking that the oral liquid delivery is most practical since adjustments may need to be made to find the right dose for an individual.
I will be using it to treat depression rather than as a deterrent to alcohol or opiate use. From what I've read, even in low doses it prevents the euphoric feeling that alcohol or opiate use produces.
Ginsa, I am so glad that you posted this. How is LDN admisistered? Will it be tablet that is diluted? or shot form. I have been trying to find someone who has tried this. Is it suposed to be for Depresssion or for Withdrawl symptoms?
Best wishes for the treatment!
