Hi Kylie! So good to see you around here still! Great job in tapering down to 2 (I remember you being stuck at 4 for a while and being discouraged). You've demonstrated such strength and will power. You've refused to give up and now you're already on day 2! That's awesome and you're well on your way! It sounds like you're doing everything right and just take it one day at a time, minute by minute. After today it will get a little easier each day. Just keep pushing forward, stay positive, and don't give up. You can do this! We're here for you. Keep posting and letting us know how you're doing!
I will just tell my OB this week at my apt and see what she says.
The hot baths and keeping busy seem to be the only thing that is helping me feel better. I have taken 5 baths today LOL. Baby seems fine and is moving like normal. I hope she turns before Sep 18th because I really don't want a C-section.
You can limit the amount of opiate painkillers you take, take them only when the pain is more severe, and utilize OTC pain meds that the doc recommends in between (ie Tylenol).
Your doc is already aware of your addiction, just make it clear to her that you want to be ultra careful. You definitely don't HAVE to take them for weeks on end. Verbalize especially that you want to be sent home with a VERY small amt with NO refills, that you will have to go see her if you need more refills. You need to increase your accountability, especially because you don't have any checks and balances at home with your husband not knowing. This way, your doc can help you be accountable to yourself. Of course your pain will need to be managed, but that can be done carefully with minimal pain meds for someone fighting addiction.
You shouldn't have to worry about w/ds if you only take the stronger meds here and there when you absolutely need them. The acute pain from a c-section should be much better after about a week, if not sooner. You'll have to take it easy of course.
