A weak moment....OVERCOME!!!

Hi everyone. So my my dreaded moment happened....the moment I actually needed pain meds. I have been dreading this for almost 7 months now and with dental work today I was faced with temptation.  I was given a script for Vic's from the dentist and I'm ashamed to say I brought it home. I had it on my table and struggled with it for several hours....which I'm not proud of....I should have said no immediately but had the thought " what if I have bad pain?"  I decided ibuprofen and ice would have to do and tore that script up!  I didn't think I would be that tempted and that scared me. I just thought about my awful life of addiction and decided to take one more step towards sobriety....guilty I took the script, proud I got rid of it....that's all that counts....

Thank you guys.... I knew this would be best appreciated here. My husband was very pleased as well. He even said he wanted to tear the script up but wanted to leave it up to me. He was scared for me which still stings....that trust isn't completely there yet...which is completely understandable.  It takes a long time to regain total trust, if it ever does return.  But I accept that I earned that mistrust now it's mine to deal with. At any rate....I did what I had to do and it was awesome!!!!! Thank you for recognizing my achievement....you are all so great!

Great job andie.You did the right thing.Be proud.  I refused some tabs once when i was 64 days clean and I remember having mixed feelings about it,thus reinforcing my belief that there is a part of us who wants to use and a part who wants to be clean.You listened to the good part .Good for you
