hydros/vike perk wd...beginning detox Monday please help

Hey evryone this is my second day on this site & I greatly appreciate all the responses I got on my first two post! Today's Friday and monday will b here soon gotta stsrtt the detox on Monday & a bit scared bc of what happend thr first time. Ive seen several of yall post ab this thomas receipe its a bit confusing to me..can someone please help me better understand the way it works & how its done?? I will b detoxing from 100mg hydros (10mg) & 10mg perks and need as much helpful advice as I can get before I start this process. Ive been takin them for 5 months.thanks

Thanks will do I kno for me God is everything he pulled me thru this one time I know he can/will do it agsin hopefully he will too forgive me. Thanks ill keep yall posted Monday will b here soon..

You're getting on the right "mental" track here.  Read the re-posted version of the Thomas Recipe I posted up above.  It's very helpful and tells you how to do what, as I mentioned.

Read as many posts on here as you can...there's lots of experience, strength and hope on this forum!

Let us know what you're doing as you go along....many people will chime in and help you~

Wow thanks cleaninks I appreciate all ur saying. I guess when I look at in that say that's a very valid point. I think thr main reason im wanting to wait untill Monday is also bc I hav to b around my family this weekend and dont want to b going thru wd and them c me going thru them.  I was obviously in denial for thinking by just taking 100 mg wasn't gonna hav such an effect of wd after just 4 months. Feeling pretty stupid now. Thanks for ur post..how long was the wd for u? How many sleepless nights did u have? ? Any suggestions on making any of this any easier for me? & the RLS killllls me..yes I tackled this once before and know I can do it .. it was hell but I guess im just shellshocked at this point...just wasn't expecting all this and me to have to endure wd againfrom just hydro and some perks...guess I was tthinking "it can't b as badas what I was once perscribed (oxycotin n oxycodone)...but I honestly didnt know this would happen from just 4 months. Should of known bettr. Any suggestions would b greatly appreciated

Yes, I have read your history and your story. I relate to it in many ways since I too had a very serious car accident in 2008 myself.  BUT....you've since had surgery and you said this:

"I kno I shouldn't of let the doc giv me any narcotics since I had such a serious problem with them (fiance Wanred me ab it also) but thought I could handle it."

It doesn't matter if the pills are vics or percs....what matters is that as addicts we have to understand that ANY narcotics are dangerous for us.  Having surgery is a legit reason to get back on "some" pain management for awhile...but it's VERY important to get off the narcotics as quickly as possible after surgery.
You are a nurse...you are in people's homes....you get your meds from a dr but have admitted to "supplementing" your script.  I did the same thing....so...by cutting off your sources...I mean...telling you dr NOT to prescribe narcotics to you anymore....noting your chart that you are an addict.  And also, telling your "other" source(s) not to call or contact you any longer because you are "done" taking them.
You said you were waiting till Monday to quit...because that's when your script ran out.....and when you get off 100 mg of vics/percs supplemented as "needed"....you're gonna need a plan in place.  Are you exposed to meds in the homes your occupation takes you to?  Have you told your dr NOT to prescribe any more narcotic pain meds?  That's what I meant by sources.....that's just the beginning...the sources, I mean.  Then comes the "not hiding the addiction"....and getting some recovery/aftercare support in place.  Getting off the 700-900 mg amounts you were on when you went to rehab shows you can do it....but what kind of aftercare plan did you have post rehab?
It's critical to put up safeguards in ALL those places....cause once you begin w/drawals....get thru detox and begin to feel a tad better...your head will start with the "I could get by with just a couple".  If you have those safegaurds I mentioned above in place....in will insure success and help you STAY clean.
If you have off work this weekend....nothing says you can't take full advantage of this time off  now and begin your detox....I quit when I drugs "on hand"..and got rid of all of them that day...best decision of my life~

To answer cleaninks question im waiting till monday bc my prescription run ous and yes I hav been cutting back. Not sure what u meant by sources...I dont kno if ur familiar with my situation but I've been perscribed all the a meds  not to say o haven't had to get them other ways when I ran out but this all started from a serious car accident 7 yrs ago..but I got clean then had recently surgery that has now got me back on them.

Just out of curiosity....why are you waiting to Monday to detox?  Do you have some time off?  Have you been tapering?  Ready to cut your sources?

I thought it was just vikes?  Are you on any other meds other than the ones you listed?
