That is where the triggers are. You keep fighting this with everything you have. Using is NOT an option here. You are stronger than this craving. You are in control now, not the addiction. Get yourself busy, just get your mind going in a different direction. There will come a time when those other fireman will have to get clean too. You will be that much further ahead. You fight this craving like you do a fire........sara
thanks honey I dont know why I feel like that when Im here its crazy you know!Especially after coming clean with the lies and deception from my family! The freakin guilt i feel doing that and now having a craving is just mind boggling to me.I hear you im fixing to get my music and start listing to it!!!and have a cup of coffee!
Sara,
WELL PUT!!! Gave me chills- okay well I still have WD chills, but it gave me REAL ones!!
Firefighter, heed the advice. You CAN overcome this urge. Trust the process. Trust your desire to stay CLEAN. Remember the pain and discontent of both the end of using, and the detox.
It only gets worse, I promise you, if you use at all.
Amy
I hear you Im gonna take a deep breathe right now and walk outside which is freakin freezen right now, which it will do me some good.
Your mind is playing games with you. We dont play games anymore. We deal in reality. I take it you havent come clean to the other firemen? Your addiction tells your brain you have left that avenue open....Get that music blaring. I remember way back when when the fire dept was all about parties and you just showed up at the fire in the clothes you were wearing....anyways after my dad sobered up he said I am so glad we never had a fire at the house. Couldnt imagine having to save lives being messed up.
Hes right about that! They did it all the time still do though thats the scary thing.
Ok ill be allright im gonna walk around the station and play my music for a little bit ok!!Thank u for the support on here!!!!
Keep strong and pray if you pray. I'm on day 4 of detox from lortab and it's tough. I've spent a good portion of my day praying and crying.
I am not sure what computer you are using at work but be careful as they can be monitered by your boss if it is a work computer. Get some therafllu, benedryl, dayquil and aleve for the flu like symptoms. stay busy as others have mentioned and pray. Tell your colleagues you think you have the flu or something so they will be more understanding of your mood. Also get St. Johns Wart or some other anti depressent to help with the mood issues. Neurontin is a great mood stabalizer you might get from your doctor if you want. When you are off for a couple of days do some research and get everything you can to help you stay on track a heated matress pad helps a lot with sleep and body aches as well...
