Need To Sleep.

Have been off oxycontin 10 days now, after the first 5 nights with only about 6hrs sleep total I took sleeping pills, they did the trick, BUT, I have since looked up the brand ( zimovane ), and it appears they can become addictive, HELL, my oxy tabs were for pain not recreational and the withdrawals were severe, can anybody give any advice, I still get the Restless Leg Syndrome, and find it very hard to nod off, should I kick the sleepers into touch, ( 5 days using ) and try and do things the natural way.

Has anybody else had this sleep problem after going C/T, and for how long.

All help fully appriciated, hope you are having a good day.

David.

I have had the opposite problem and sleep too much now  I am 3 going on 4 weeks clean from hydrocodone...I read and do take something when I need it...I also take a calcium/magnesium supplement before bed...reading helps me as well  I am reading a book that lostmarbles recommended...A Million Little Pieces by James Frey...fell asleep with it in my hand last night...depressing read so far but realistic...often I will just read something much more relaxing than that book  LOL
Where is lostmarbles come to think of it?

hey david, good to see you.  sorry to tell you i am on 87 days and i still have sleep issues.  mind you it is better than before i do get about 4 hours uninterrupted sleep now.  that is still not enough.  goingtomakeit told me to try melotonin which i am going to pick on my way home from work today.  i am not trying to dicourage you , most ppl get back to sleeping earlier than that.  thats why i am on the forum half the night lol.  you can make it.  your body finally adjust to less sleep ha.  you will do this.  keep on posting and when you are up al night come tak to me .
try the melatonin...its all natural and leave the pills alone.

pills are not my doc, but from what i have read on here the sleep problem and rls are all part of the detox. try melanomin , they are saying that helps with sleep, also tylenol pm may get ya some relief. the rls can be helped with hot epsom salt baths, and heating pads seem to help alot of people on here. others on here will help more when they come on, i just wanted to say good luck , you can do this, and we are here to support you...

I am a recreation oxy abuser.  I wish you the best of luck with quiting your addiction.  I wish i had the strength and presence of mind to stop my addiction.  I would recommend seeing your doctor for something to help you sleep.  I have some low dosage xanex which helps my sleep whenever i need it.  I wish you the best of luck.
