Need advice fast

Im 30 years old with 2 disc problems and for the last 4 years have been on 2 80mg OC and 2 40mg OC a day, now hears the problem i had a call for a pill count and i don't have them couse i took way too many so my doc told me im shut off from all narcotics with her. Now i was able to geta hold of some perks so im not deathly sick and i cant go to a detox couse my job is in th lawenforcement field and i dont want everyone to find out i was on those meds. Now if i taper down on perks will that work and how long will it take and since im shut off from my doc am i red flaged on any dea list if i see another doc, i know im in lawenforcent but its only security so im not aware of how thats works when u get shut off. Any advive will help thanks so much!!!!!

Hey guys i just wanted to let u guys know whats been going on since my last post.  As u guys know i got shut off from my doc for not having my pills when i was called for a random pill count, so i went from 2 oc 80's and 2 oc 40's and break threw perks for 4 years to being shut off over just like that. So i got a hold of methadone and some perks and 1 suboxone. I used the methadone to wean from the oc's for a week of so the used perks to wean from the methadone and the suboxone to wean from the perk so its been 22 days since my last oxy and 8 days since my last done, 4 days since my last perk and today i took my last 1/4 piece of the suboxone. So now i guess its just mental from hear on in but for the last 7 days i haven't been able to sleep, i prob slept 14 hrs in 7 days and i haven't been back to work since this all happen. Now i talked to my boss yesterday and he said if i dont show tom im all done, but he just thinks my back has been so bad i havent been able to sleep so i couldn't work and all my bills are rite at the point where i have to pay or i lose everything. But i feel so diffrent, everything seems diffrent, im really depressed and in alot of back pain. I know oc's and pills controll your life but the life i was living for 4 years is gone, i used to be happy i was able to work threw my back pain, i was able to sleep when ever i wanted and the meds just seemed to work but i lost everything couse i took a few too many one month.  Idk if i should go back to my doc and 1st find out if she red flaged me and then beg her and if she says know then should i try a new doc or should i just keep off them and deal with the back pain, i don't know guys :( But i realy wanted to let everyone who was helping me know whats going on couse u guys are the only ones who understand, so thanks for all your help and sorry about the "BOOK" lol I look forward to hearing your sugestions, like allways!! Thanks so much for the support!!! I know its bad timing but i just got back with my ex and she thinks i have the flue but i can only have the flue for so long lol but idk time will tell i guess huh

hey dude....well im glad the methadone is working to keep you form withdrawals
but as for the energy thing it is just part of the withdrawals from the oxy...its going to take a wile for it to run its course ....im 78 days clean today and im at about 80%
I still get a bad day here or there but I finely feel like my battery's are recharging ..
you had a prity  substantial oxy habit so your body is going into endorphin shock
or should I say the lack of endorphin coming form your daily dose of oxy...so its going to be a wile till your brain gets back on line producing them by itself...you realy need to
be narcotic free for this to take hold ...the methadone will substitute some of it...but
it wont give you the feeling of the oxy...as for a time line...well everyday you put between you and it will help but you realy need to work towards being narcotic free
b/4 your realy going to get better...the methadone is a good patch but its not a cure your probably going to have to get free of all of it b/4 you start to get better its only
been a short wile since you did this so your body is freaking out but your still in a sorta withdrawal state...a state of "transition" from one drug to another...look up the amino acid protocol on the health pages on the right hand side of your screen
and get to a health food store and get the supplements its not a quick fix but it will help to get you going again...I wish I had better news for you but your learning the narcotic road the hard way...at least your free of the oxy...good luck and god bless

I'm really depressed, i havent been back to work since all this happen, i just want to be happy again and have that drive to go to work and so on so on..........Bobby

hey dude...well it seams I cant talk you into going to a clinic so.......your plan
sounds safe but keep in mind...your NOT going to feel the methadone like
the oxy or other narcotics ...it will still be there working but no feelings of
well being or a "high" thats how people wind up killing them selves on it
they think they haven't taken enough ...your probably not going to feel like
yourself at all but it will keep you from going into full blown withdrawals
in the end your only prolonging the inevitable you will have some sort of
withdrawals to go thew there's no getting around it ...I still think you should
go check out a clinic to be safe but if you only dose the way you say your going to
you should be ok just dont start dabbling up on the pills it can get lethal quickly

To Mikablu and gnarly and everyoneelse helping me, as i had said i got a hold of so methadone pills, they are 10 mg pills and i have my roomate holding them, MY plan is to take 1 in the am and a 1/2 before bed and then after a week go to 1 a day half in the am and half at nite. Then for my third week take a half in tha am and a perk or 2 at nite and then do the same with the perks untill im off . And Mikablu thank u for all that advice and im sure u know what your talking about but im allready trying this new way to get clean and again thank u too everyone who is helping me and i will keep all u updated God bless

hey dude welcome to the forum ...wow what a mess when I was into pills they never did counts on them ...I would have been scre#ed I always ran out early usually had 2 dr writing scripst so I dident run out....but those days are gone with everyone linked up
by computer now...so you got ahold of some methadone....wow thats scary in itself
you can kill yourself with that stuff eazely ...many people have...methadone is ALOT
STRONGER then most people think...and it has a long 1/2 life so it builds up in your system so todays dose might be ok but when you add tomorrows dose you may have more then your system can handle and with methadone you dont get a second chance
if your wrong about your dose your DEAD WRONG....dude do you even know what mg the pills are there are 5s 10s and 40mg wafers out there if you mix up the amount you take im not kidding around here IT WILL KILL YOU...as much as I hate methadone clinics that is your only really safe way to take methadone  I spent 6 1/2yrs on the stuff and dont recommend it to anyone but if your going to use it
go to a clinic and do it as safely   as possible  dont roll the dice and try to figure out how much its going to take to get past the withdrawals this is a seriously bad idea
if you tell them at the clinic how much oxy your using they will know how much
methadone to give you...anymore they treat alot of pill addicts at methadone clinics
there is no shame in getting help if you need it ...if you do go this avenue only
stay on it for as short of time as possible ...just long enough to ween yourself
off all narcotics dont become a methadone maintenance person the withdrawals
from methadone or long and hard...it took me 8 1/2 mo to break free of the stuff
if you go into a clinic tell them you just want to ween off your oxy habit DONT
start going up in dose ...a safe rate of taper is 10% every 72hr until your off it
you can jump off at 5mg and go thew some uncomfortable but doable
withdrawals just dont get your dose up to high b/4 tapering it only makes it harder
I hope you take my advise ....methadone is nothing to mess with its not like regular pills..its ment only for the worst case seneros...if I where you id try to taper off
without methadone all together ...it will be ezer in the end ...good luck with what ever you decide .....Gnarly

Methadone needs to be taken under a doctors supervision.  They are nothing to mess with and a very powerful opiate.  So if i have this right you want to use the methadone to wean yourself down from oxy and then use the percs to wean completely off?  If this is the plan you are putting yourself thru a whole lot.          sara

Thank u EVERYONE who is trying to help me, i was able to get a hold of 20 methadones and im going to try to use those to wean down to perks and then wean off with the perks "i pray" . I will keep all u new freinds up to date, god bless and Happy new year

From reading these forums, I keep reading over and over that a doctor cannot legally "cut you off" without giving you a 30 day supply of whatever medicine you were taking.  You might want to check out that angle.

I echo the suggestions above.  I was prescribed double the amount you were taking.  After a couple attempts to taper on my own, I got help.  I went to an outpatient Addiction Specialist.  In 2 days, it will be 100 days since my last doseage.

you should be able to find out patient detox. that's what I did. I tryed for two years to do it alone and was in misery. I fought and fought the idea of having to get help like that. I have a strong constitution. In the end I had to go or die. Literaly. I prayed and prayed and when I finally caved in and went I felt so rediculous to have been so stubborn. I learned a lot real quick and found out no one can do it with out help. They shouldn't have gottn you on it if they expected you to live very long. It is supposed to be for final stage cancer a such.

oh my.... you are going to have your stomach eaten up if you even try to match this amount with percocet or hydros. you can give it a try but if you have been on that much for over a year you could be in trouble. Be prepared to call a treatment center. you might be a canadate for suboxone. Is the a doctor in your area that will perscribe suboxone. You may be able to stay on it for a short time  say a month or so but Oxicontin is worse than heroine to get clean of. few have made it without help. In fact the dose you were on I 'm thinking there will be no way you can do it without help. But everyone is different. You will know how much you can stand. You may  have been able to limp along with the percs   if you had a script coming but if your cut off you have a serious decision to make. Keep us posted.

I am not an oxy user (thank God I didn't make it to them), but I have read many threads on here where people DO use Lortabs or percs to wean. I am weaning now from Lortabs, and HAD to have someone hold them and give them to me in doses. Weaning is very hard. It is not in our nature to go down in mgs.
Please if you can, find someone you can have help you.
Stay on here and post. Someone much wiser with your DOC will be here shortly to give better advice.
I would also advise you to go to an NA meeting. It helped me so much when I first tried to get clean. ... THen I stopped, so I started using again.
