withdrawal from clonzepam

this questions is for anyone especially a doctor...
i have been on clonzepam for 19 years, and have decided i am going to start withdrawing from this drug...
my doctor put me on 2mg tablets, so i have been breaking them in half and starting my cutback by 1mg per month...
is this too much of a cutback on this drug, should i ask for 1mg tablets and break those in half and do it that way...
i now take up to 5 mg of clonzepam per day...
i just started this process two days ago, but already the biggest problem is the insomnia...
i expected to run into problems, you can't be on this drug for so long and not run into something, but i am trying to ease the transition from the drug as slowly as possible, and it doesn't matter how long it takes me to do this...

"Benzodiazepine withdrawal." That's what my brain said, but my hands don't listen.

A long taper ... don't go so fast. Talk to Doc, but first punch "benzodiapine withdrawal" or something similar and look for a U.K. site. It's the best I've seen.

I would talk to ur doc about it. Its a benzo right? They can be
dangerious but maby not with a taper? I really dont know much about em sorry but thats all I got gl :)
