Thanks all for your support! I know the only way to do this and get my head back on straight is to get out of myself and listen to other addicts who know how I feel. I can't beleive the hold these vics have on me cuz I'm not on a high dose!!! Thru the past year I have ripped through a few benzo rx's but they don't do what opiates do for me. Back in my drinking days I was a weekend warrior with stuff, coke, whatever. Needles didn't scare me. Now it's as though I'm hyper sensative to chemicals because of my past as mr.lucky said. The tough part now is getting rid of craving and desire! I like dope right now because it dulls my reality. Sick huh. I'm workin up to this. My plan is slowly tapering off starting today.
Im sorry if I misunderstood ur post but I thought when you said 2 or 3 u were referring to ur pain scale, or is that the amount of pills u take a day?
im on day two with no vicodin. And yes it does suck. The first night i was hot and cold and throwing up and had diaria etc. Today i went to try and get the thomas recipe. The only thing i could find was the immodium cuz i was so weak. Tommorrow thats another day i will be getting the thomas recipe but not the step number one i disagree with takeing any more prescibed pills to get off another doesnt make sence to me. Good luck though and you made the right decision by coming here lots of very nice helpfull people here.
Hi there. We are all here for you and I commend you for making the decision to quit the pills. At two or three a day, you should not suffer that bad. I agree with mr. lucky 3-4 (maybe 5 or 6) days and the worst of the physical stuff should be done. Think flu like symptons to varying degrees. It's not easy, but you can do it. I cannot really tell you what you will experience coming off 2 or 3 as I was at about 25 a day and the started a long term sub treatment, but I can tell you that you have certainly come to the right place for support and help. Dont be down - you are making a great choice for your life and should be very proud of that! Best of luck.
Depends on the person, how much and how long you took them. The longest I ever took them consistantly was 2yrs about 5-8 10mg per day. First 3-4 days is the hardest and that's what most will tell you. After that things get better. Day 5,6, and 7 you may feel almost normal but natural energy and mental obsession are the hardest to deal with. Keep you head up you can do it if you really want it. May want to try clonidine for the chills and fever (has to be perscribed by physician) and a benzo such as valium, ativan, or xanax for the anxiety plus it'll ease the edge and help you to sleep. Hope all goes well. Wishing you the best of luck!
It shouldn't be that bad for you. You can probably get over it in 3-4 days. You may have more dependence because of past alcohol abuse but it won't be that bad physicaly.
