Mainly just diet stuff, avoiding Gluten and Diary increasing greens, chia seeds and flax seed. Told me to add a probiotic too. He also told me to trial taking Guaifenessin 600mg daily (mucinex) without the Dextromethorpan... There have been some studies (apparently controversial) that Guaifenessin can help detox the body by loosening up phosphate deposits in the muscles and ligaments... There has been some anecdotal success with fibromyalgia patients and decreased pain....He told me to try it for 2 months and see what happens. I'll try it and see how it goes... He didn't diagnose me with fibro but told me to try it. He himself has had some success. He is a MD but getting into a lot of alternative treatments he didn't learn in med school. I really like him. He's helped me to lose some weight too with small diet modifications which is the main pain contributing factor to my back. Big belly pulling at my lower back= ouch. I really hope that I can get over this.
Thanks!
Very proud of you goblin !!! Hang in there ok . I am also curious to know what the "options" are that the doctor gave you for helping detoxify your body.
Doctors usually tend to shy away from talking about that kind of stuff in my experience with them. I was just wondering if it was something I had not heard of yet. I am always interested in learning new things about detoxing the body and being healthier than I am now.
Just do not let the pain rule your mind! It is so easy to think you can take just 1 to feel better but my favorite saying is 1 is too many and 1000 is never enough! This is a tough thing we are going threw and we need to remember we did not become addicted over night so we will not feel better over night!
We were just going threw the motions and now we are feeling again and that my friend is awesome! Hang in there it will get better!
Thanks Bear,
I guess I have to get used to feeling a little something now, It's weird that I haven't felt this type of pain in such a long time. Not the intensity but just feeling it... I used to just all around feel awful and now I'm feeling so much better but with that dull ache in my lower back again (which got me on pills in the first place)... I actually got kind of bummed out yesterday that my back was hurting... I know it will get better.
For me it was a couple of weeks before the 9-10 levels went down to 3-4! Now I just take Aleve when I hurt and it really helps me! I also take glucosimine every day and that seems to help the joints...
