I need HELP. Please Read my story

Im 27 y/o male who is living in Central Florida. Ive been on opiates for 5 years.. from 5mg percs to 30mg oxy.. In 2010  went through my very First  Hell ride coming off 100mg/aDay oxys and went through 2 weeks for pure hell, Now I moved back to florida and stayed clean for 2 months.. I relapsed in august and now its December. btw somebody offered me a percocet and I was in heaven. Thats all it took to start my addiction back up.. I went through opiate withdrawl.. less servier in june when i moved back here. Anyways im on day 4 free from opiates and it was either loose everything including my condo or get off the opiates.. I was spending 100 a day for these damn killers. I almost o'dd twice with oxys.. But im here now and on day 4 and lastnight was hell.. btw i tappered to 15 mg a day of oxy every other day then went off.. I have a new thing called Kratom,Immodium,Coulf surup,Aleve, and Lyrica.. my feet were on fire lastnight and i took 2 lerika and slept 11 hours.. that was a blessing.. anyway I just want to know that there is a light at the end of this horrible road were on and i cant stop crying (spontaniously) i want to be clean,, I never had a reasion to take pills ecept my back pain which i can definitly handle w/o opiates.. Also I posted a video on Youtube about going through this hell and I think it was smart to try to help other people but also to look back at my videos to remind myself what i went through incase i ever get tempted.. I already deleted my dealers number and Im not craving.. Im just scared its to late to not loose everything.. all my family ecept my sister has passed away.. And all my well who i thought were my true friends just walked out of my life.. Ive never stolen, lied or anything for pills.. and i dont understand the perception of people..  Please excuse the spelling.. im shaking rightnow.

You are very welcome. A couple of things I forgot to mention. You are on day 4, so you should be at or close to the peak of the withdrawal symptoms. Hopefully, you should start feeling better in a few more days. The emotional stuff (crying) is very normal, and I actually think it's good to let your emotions out. For me, the crying was cleansing. Let the tears flow! Also, make sure you are staying very well hydrated. Drink lots of water, Gatorade, etc... This will help speed the process and help get the toxins out. If you can't or don't feel like eating, drink some Ensures or Boosts. You need to keep up your strength. Lastly, try to get some mild exercise. Walking outside is best. The fresh air will help with fatigue, and sleep issues. For me, getting outside was the best remedy. Again, keep posting and let us know how you are doing.

Thank you IBKleen   You are an insperation and yes the kratom.. I use the capsels 4 aday which help somewhat.. i tryed drinking it but it made me very sick.. I have a few capsels left and will never take kratom again.. its day 4 and the phisical seems to come on strong in the morning and through the day im fine.. at night is difficult too but i would say Mild withdrawl is what im experiencing if there is such a thing.. Opiate free 4 days and im not looking back. Cough surup doesnt have opiate in ti.. and barley helps.. I went off that today and when my legs wake me up on fire at night, i take 2 lyrica.. lyrica also makes me sick so i wont be on that long.  thanks for your support.

Hi StayingClean, and welcome to the forum. I really hope you will stick around and continue to post about your progress. You will find a lot of wonderful advice and support here. You have quite a story! Sadly, it sounds all to familiar. Many of us, including myself, have been through something similar. It sounds like you are fairly well prepared to go through the physical withdrawal process. Just one warning about the Kratom. I do not have any personal experience with that substance, but I have read that it is addicting, and can be difficult to quit. Please be careful and aware. You may want to do some research on it. It's great that you have dumped all of your friends/dealers. That is an absolute key for long term success! You also should consider some form of aftercare. Something such as AA/NA meetings, therapy, counseling, etc... This will also help to ensure that you stay clean and do not relapse again.

Take care! I wish you all the best. Please stay with us and keep posting. I believe we can help you, and that you have a lot to offer here.  Happy Holidays! Keep moving forward, day by day!

Hi & Welcome,

A couple of things I will suggest: get rid of the Kratom. It is addictive and you don't need a substitution now. Lyrica is also known to be addictive for those who have the disease of addiction. If it were me, I would get rid of that. Cough syrup? Is there any opiate in it? If so, lose that. The reason I say this none of that suff will probably help with your withdrawal and in fact may prolong it. I know you want to be done with this so I am just suggesting what I would do/have done.

Try and keep yourself busy. It's Christmas and it is tough for many people this time of the year. Know that there will only be a few more days of the physical and that part will be over.

I am glad you found this community. It is very slow today and will be through tomorrow so be patient as people come on and will talk with you. Hang in there and ask questions as you need to. It helps just knowing you can talk about things without being judged.
