Cold turkey would be safe and your best option. As you know oxy's are highly addictive. If you have only been on them for 3 weeks, just stop taking them NOW and you may feel uncomfortable or have flu symptoms for a few days but nothing compared to what you will feel like if you continue to take them.
Did your doctor write you a new script of are you still taking the ones leftover from your previous surgery?
You would have to talk to your doctor about what's safe for you because everyone is different. However I can tell you that there is no way to prevent withdrawls except to not take the pills in the first place. Unfortunately, you will have to go through withdrawals no matter what. But 20 to 30mls a day for only 3 weeks, if you haven't been addicted to pain meds previously, you shouldn't have too bad of withdrawls. Your doctor can also prescribe you meds like clonodine to make it a little more comfortable. Also if u can't handle wds and take a pill, your just going backwards. The best thing is to either figure out a taper and follow it or just go ct and deal with the wds. We are here for support and u can message me anytime!
This really is no different than if you had surgery and were taking meds during recovery. I think you're overthinking this. Just stop taking them and you should be fine. Maybe a bad mood for a few days but nothing you can't handle.
I agree with the other posters, I would just stop now before you get to a point where you dont want to me!
Thank you all very, very much. Just worried you know. Sounds like cold turkey may be a really good move. And no I have like 4 20s left and always cut them in half anyway due to the high. I am going to try and quite tomarrow. I will post about how I feel. Hug.
Ok. So wierd. I have had no withdrawl symptoms. On ike hour 30. When do they start?????????????
You may not have any. Or very mild, increased HR, etc.
Everyone's different, but I have had many surgeries, took pain meds for 2-3 weeks and stopped with no withdrawls. Hope that's the case for you!
They should have kicked in by now if you were going to have any. Just stay away from them now. Great job going ct?
Nice. So what is the time line for WD's from this drug?
I am thinking you will be fine stop them now Before the days get away from you, I know many of us wished we had done this.
Good luck you can get through this :)
