Please help me with ms contin and withdrawel

Hello this is the second post I cannot find where my post went?  I am having a terrible time withdrawing for ms contin I take way too many and have three weeks at a time and already down to 1 week.  Please help me get off of this medication.

My neighbor lady was just diagnosed with this......Many of us have found that once we stopped using our pain got better and we are able to control it with OTC meds such as Motrin, Aleve etc.

You really are going to have to. I will tell you at some point they will cut you off and you dont want to get to that point we have had members on med for 10 years then one day the doctor says no more .I know chronic pain is hard alot of us here have it but it can be done there will be some dark says but the sun does shine again so think about it .We will be here for moral support when you do ...:)

Hello I will always be given this medication as I had a cancerous tumer and my parotid gland removed and this is the system my doctor set up for the neuropathic pain I have for the last 6 years.  Now I have only had the ms contin 30mg for 3 years that is a long time I know , and I take 30mg 3 times a day and that is the way it is supposed to be taken but of course this turned into a nightmare and I do not ask for my meds early because I know that is what they would do is cut them off.  If I could just go by what they say but know that now I never will.  So you are right I should get right of the drug and find another way to handle the pain which is severe at times.

Did you get any type of recovery care before?  You may want to talk with your doctor about this also.  Coming clean to others really helps.          sara

we are here to help I think that's what you are going to have to do but at some point you are going to have to get off of it all together .I can tell you this its better to do it before the doctors cut that scripts off .I would start looking into maybe going to some meetings like aa or na or even an addiction therapist to help you start to move in the direction of being off all together .I know it's scary but you can do it :)

Thank you so much for your response and sorry about putting in too many requests lol,I am very anxious and depressed and need to talk to someone.  I have one week worth of ms contin to do me for 3 weeks and the only thing I can do is go to 1  a day and taper off although i have been trough this before and swore I would never go through this again here I am again.  So I think what I am planning to do is take 1 a day instead of 5 and go from there.  Do you have any thoughts about this method?  I cannot just quit or I would go out of my mind. It is very difficult just going to one a day form me.

Hi and welcome to the forum.  Check out the health pages like avis said.  Do you have anyone that can hold your meds for you?  I know you said you have another refill coming in a few days.  If you dont have anyone cancel that refill.  We are here to help and support you.......sara

Hi ,welcome to the forum one thread is fine when you start to many threads it can be very confusing for members they may not be able to help you as well so lets stick to one .

You have a few choices u can try tapering off it. Many find it had to taper others can do it .If not the is CTing which is to dump the rest to the meds get the wd over and move on from there .

If you look in the health pages in the right hand collum you will see both the Tomas recipe and the amnio acid protocol they both have vitamins and supplements that can help your body heal .Also you are going to want to find a recovery care program so once you get off them you do not end up back on them .We will be here to help you threw .Welcome again lets get you on the road to recovery
