Percocet Withdrawl

I have been on percocet for years off and on due to 47 surgeries.  I have had 4 this year and need one more in December.  I quit percocet c/t two days ago and yesterday I thought I was losing my mind, high anxiety, restlessness and everything else that goes with withdrawls.  I can not sleep and am constantly laying down, getting up, moving, back to bed and the routine goes on.  I don't know what to do.  I did take a clonzapem for the anxiety which I am hoping helps. Any suggestions to get through this next few days without going crazy, not sleeping, or eating?

There aren't really any OTC meds that alleviate withdrawal symptoms, except maybe potassium and magnesium, and maybe Advil for body aches.  Truthfully, none of them did a thing for me.  I just had to ride it out.    I did make sure I drank Gatorade to replace the electrolytes I was losing through diarrhea.

Withdrawals are quite unpleasant, but they can be helped with heating pads, hot baths/showers, moving around (any exercise at all will help), direct sunshine,

Careful with the clonazepam.  It is also very addicting.  Good luck honey...we're here for emotional support...

Hi temp!
I'm right here with you! I have the body aches, the hot/cold thing going on and I'm dreading going to bed tonight:( I have been taking 5/325 Vicodins for 9 months, anywhere from 5-8 a day. Today I took 1 and a half and I hall and I have 3 and a half left. I thought one a day but to be honest taking one and a half today did absolutely nothing for me as far as not withdrawling. I'm a wreck, scared what tomorrow will bring.... Maybe we can lean on each other?

Thanks, have been reading the posts, good info.  It is so tempting to call in for another script but I can not do it.  Got to get clean for the next surgery.  Are there any otc meds that can help alleviate symptoms.  Right now, I am experiencing just about everyone I have read on these posts.  Trying hard to focus.

Hi Temp:

What you're experiencing is normal.   It is going to rough for the next 4-7 days.  Make sure you eat lightly, drink a TON of fluids (gatorade if you are losing fluids.)

Any kind of "busy" task or exercise will help alot.  So will hot showers, baths, keeping yourself distracted.

There is ton of info on here...you can click on other's posts and read what they did for help.

Good luck...you can do this!
