help 17 wks preg want to detox

is there a safer time to detox off 30mg of methadone i am 17 wks preg and cant imagine watching my baby go through withdrawls i want to taper but ive herd its not safe has anyone done it

Im 18 wks and my moms really pushing me to go this ONLY hospital that detoxs women pregnant & im really scared and worried that the baby will die, I want doctors opinions on this thanks.

get a hold of a doctor, fess up and start tapering now... you really don't want to have a baby born addicted to opiates. It is unpleasant and there can be 'social' consequences-i.e. state involvement. Find an OB that you trust, let them know what is going on and get off the stuff under doctor's supervision. You will be doing yourself and your baby a huge favor. Don't wait-do it now.
You are not alone. There are to many women to count that are hooked on drugs and pregnant. Doctors see this all the time and will respect you for deciding to quit.

Hi and welcome...I've detoxed off of methadone,but being pregnant and detoxing from it its different.The best thing to do is wait for betterlife to contact you,Shes a great lady and helps many women in your situation.I'm here if you want to talk though.Peace...Kim

hi and welcome to the forum..  there have been ladies here that tapered while pregnant.  it is always best to do this under the supervision of your dr...have you told him you are addicted?  what is your doc?  we have an ob/gyn nurse on the forum..i will send her your info and ask her to contact you.  she has helped many on the forum..good luck to you and the little one.
