Restless Leg?

I was doing some research on restless leg syndrone recently. A few articles in some medical journals actually recommended opiates as a last resort to help this condition. Thought that to be very ironic.

The post you answered is a old one and doubt if any of the members are even still around. You should start a new post so it is dedicated to you. At the top of the page just click on "post a question' and type any questions you have. I few things that help with rls is taking a very hot bath before bed, heating pads on your legs, or wrapping ace bandages around your legs. There is also a over the counter med called Highland's Restful Legs. I have never used it but have heard some great things about it. Maybe in your new post let everyone know what you were taking, how much, and how long. You will get some wonderful advice and some great encouragement. Best of luck!

I went to the health food store and they had some hylands stuff and then a package of 3 different types of homeopathic.  My legs feel ok now if it works tonight, I will give all info on it.  I hate that part.

I'm currently on day 13 from a 4 yr. opiates addiction (spending about $300-$400 per week!!) & so far, I feel GREAT!!! I'm not gonna sugarcoat this-it was one of the HARDEST thing I've ever had 2 do!! I was thinking strongly about relapsing-but 2 my surprise-I didn't!! on Day 3-but I was  completely questioned a relapse & Day 3 +4, bcuz those days were the worst!! If u can get past a week with w/d symptoms,it gets soo much better after that. it's not gonna be easy and I did it the worst/hardest way;cold turkey (c/t)-the physical symptoms are almost completely gone-just mental thoughts, like  cravings, sleeplessness, mood swings, anxiety attacks, vivid & clear dreams & unfortunately, not all of my dreams are nice-most of them were reminiscment from when I was molested by my mom's b-friend.  He told me he would kill my mom, if I even "said one word",So, I didn't bcuz I was scared.
Anyway, I noticed that since I quit, I've had ALL the symptoms of RLS-that's exactly how it feels!! Is this normal??  Is this part of withdrawal from opiates? Will it go away eventually? It feels like pins & needles inside my legs & I'm constantly having 2 move my legs around-it keeps me up & I don't get any sleep-w/out my sleeping medicine
(300 mg.'s of Seroquel).

Some say that wrapping legs tightly with an ace bandage stops the RLS.

I'm back on here after a few month break.  Had very bad RLS from withdrawals of hydros and oxys...really bad in arm aches also....  Anyway everyone says hot baths..well, it helped but I felt so sick I couldn't even get in the bath sometimes.  Recently, went back on (oxys..for a hurt foot) and boy did I love them...until the bad side effects started again so went off ...slower this time but still had the arm aches...I found it is much easier to just keep moving.I also took as much aleve as allowed.  This time I made myself go to work...took diaz. if needed...very small dose..and ambien to sleep at night and felt alot better than the last time.  I hope this helps a little.  Put on some sweat pants and a big jacket and go walk and sweat it out!!!  Good Luck!

I have RLS even without the hydrocodone withdrawal restless legs. I have taken Requip for that in the past. Right now, I'm without insurance and can't afford to get it, but it helped. However, the restless legs from the withdrawal is worse because it's all day long! I have found that a quarter of a pain pill calms them down. But then that defeats the goal of getting off of the pills...
