Scary experience - Norco withdrawal?

I was given Norco 10/325 six months ago following a motorcycle accident in which I broke my femur.  Most of that time my prescription says to take as needed, up to 6.  There were times when 6 wasn't enough, but my pain isn't so bad now and for the last month or so I've usually I've taken 3-4 per day, except a couple times when I was unusually active and started hurting more.
Yesterday I took my usual morning dose, but wasn't bothered during the day, so didn't take any more.  Then around 6pm I started feeling lightheaded and had a heart-burn type chest pain.  I went home & tried to rest, but after a few hours started vomiting (mostly heaving since my stomach was pretty much empty).  The abdominal pain was horrible.  I thought I had food poisoning or something.  Around 2am I was so bad my husband insisted I go to the ER.
I was really surprised when the first thing the doctor said was it could be Norco withdrawal.  I never felt dependent on the drug or anything like that. I have a pain mgmt doctor and he never acted like there was a problem.
I've had a lot of complications since the accident...pulmonary embolism, depression (my husband was more severely injured and is still not able to walk on his own), bone healing issues.  I used to rarely take even a Tylenol, and now I take so many meds I have to keep a list.  Some of the other meds limit what pain meds I can take, but I want to stop the Norco.

I haven't been able to eat yet today.  I took 1/2 a Norco just in case, although I didn't need it for pain.  I still feel shaky and weak

That is good that you got to the bottom of it, although gall bladder surgery was the first time a Dr. ever gave me opiates. I hadn't thought about that till now. Hope all is well. God Bless

It turned out not to be withdrawal at all.  I was having a gall bladder attack.  After a week of vomiting hell, my coworkers insisted I leave work early on Wednesday.  I couldn't make it and stopped at an urgent care clinic on the way.  The doctor there picked up what the ER doc missed twice.  But by then I was so bad they had to call an ambulance.  They stabilized me and I had surgery Thursday morning.  Now recovering at home.  Thanks for the help!

I am confused too. I have gone longer than 11-12 hrs w/o a dose many times before w/o any problem.  I just saw my pain mgmt doctor a few days ago.  I've also had trouble w/ fatigue and possible anemia (not unusual after a femur fracture).
Thanks for the info

With all that is going on I could not say for certain it is withdrawal. For me there was a lot more going on and the fact that it is your only symptom, combined with the fact you have many other health problems, and combined with the fact that you have not been on it a long time, I would check it out through your pain mngt doctor.

There could be other things going on with you causing this so it would be in your best interest to get a check up. Let us how you make out. I hope you feel better.

That is the WD...given your dose..you are likely to have heavy WD for 2-3 days then it will slowly get better.

there will emotional issues you may not be ready for.

I would read as much as you can and prepare your self for this.
