Hi...
Im glad to hear that you managed to be strong enough and reduce your dosage by so much...
although i have never taken tramadol or any other drug or strong medication...my fiance has been taking tramadol for about 8 months now...he started off taking one 50mg tablet whenever he was stressed but then began taking them regularly after going through some difficult times...he never took more than 200mg in one day and would usually take about 100 which was four 50mg tablets...he recently tried to stop and realised he couldnt...he tried to stop cold turkey and managed for three days but they were torture for him and he couldnt carry on..he has now decided to taper until eventually stopping. He is now taking one 50mg tablet a day and has been for 3 days...but is very depressed and in alot of pain with constant vomiting.... i would appreciate any advise you can give me which you think might help him...how long do you think it will take before he is completely off them?? will the withdrawl symptoms get better any time soon??? what can i do to help him because its killing me to see him like this>>>>>>
any advice you can give me would be very much appreciated
I have been on trams for eleven years and over 40 pills a day.
I have tapered down to 8 pills a day within two months.
Trying to stop CT may be dangerous and may not work.
I did the following.
Week 1. reduced my dose by only 20%.
Week 2. reduced that new dose by 20% and so on.
This way you won't feel like your giving up all at once and you really have a chance at stopping for good. Prayer is a big help because you are not alone even you think you may be.
I truly hope you defeat this terrible problem and I will keep you in my prayers.
I don't know a lot about trams, but there are a few here that do. Talk to the CL avisg, she knows a lot about them. Did you do a taper, c/t of these can be dangerous and horrible w/d's from what I have heard. How many did you just come of of taking per day. Someone will come a long soon that can help you better. Good luck!
