My IOP just did a class on personality types, and said many type B personalities develope the fiber. because they can never relax, even at night, and they have alot of anger and resentment inside. I am a type B myself, and when I get angry I don't yell, I would withdraw. They warned me to let stuff out in a healthy way and not keep it in. Don't know if that helps or describes you, but interesting we just talked about it. As far as what to do now, I am no doctor, so maybe that's the best route to take. Can you take a week off to go through the withdrawals? And how much are you taking?
Welcome :) I too suffer from fibromyalgia as well as migraines and was given Hydrocodone for the pain and was on them for several years. I would get migraines almost every other day and so I began medicating myself to try to alleviate my pain. My fibro would also flare up something fierce and I would also over medicate for that. I forgot my pills over 4th of July weekend and I went into hard withdrawals. I ended up in the ER and with the help of my doctor and husband, I admitted I was addicted and I quit cold turkey. It wasn't easy but I want to tell you that now, 72 days clean, I have rare bouts of fibro and even fewer migraines that a good anti-inflammatory help with as well as Tylenol ES.
You may be suffering so much now because of rebound pain from the medications you are taking, especially if you are taking them at times when you want them rather than truly need them which I am guessing from the tone of your post, you are.
I am so glad you found us. We can help you get through withdrawals if you want to quit. There is a ton of great information on this site to help you. You may also want to talk to your doctor and tell him you fear you are addicted and want help and to try a different, non opiate based medication for your pain.
Hang in there hon, we're hear to listen and give you support and information if you want it.
Hi Dee welcome, you have come to the right place for advice and support. At least you know that it's an addiction and that is a good start.
Maybe you are having some rebound pain from the pain meds. I understand that fibromyalgia also causes pain. But sometimes being on pain meds can actually make the pain worse. After taking the oxycontin/percocet for long so long you become addicted and it is hard to stop taking it. Are you taking it only when you have pain? Do you find yourself taking a scheduled dose even if you are not in pain?
Both meds are very addictive and once we start taking such painkillers we find it very difficult to stop taking them. Are you interested in getting off the meds? I think if you did that some type of anti-inflammatory med could help your pain. This would be a choice I would make,
I came here for support looking to get off the drugs and start a recovery plan. I was tired of living my life addicted to pills and living in a fog of a life. I do have struggles, but I am doing what I have to do to overcome and regain control of my life.
You will find a lot of support here on this forum and the people are wonderful and full of information to share and help you.
That a tough one! You feel frusterated because you dont want to be on pill but you need the pills not to be in pain. YOu need to talk to your doctor and come up with another possibe pain plan. Are you abusing RX?
