Frogger76 - That's why I said I had to check and educate myself. I was only on 50mg 4x daily and they did nothing for me but upset my stomach. I tossed them down after a few weeks when my stomach couldn't handle it any more. That was years ago. I like educating myself on other meds in case they try and put me on something that's as hard or harder to get off of. I enjoy this site because of the education I get for my addiction. Learning about all addictions and many different meds from users teaches me what to be scared of if the Dr. want to "try this".
I'm sure I gain more knowledge from your stories of pain and struggle than anyone would ever know. I'm also learning I don't have to be so ashamed I can't go outside, because I'm not the only one out there. I am thankful everyday for it!!

Hi there!! I can assure you tramadol is not just a hyper Tylenol. I was highly addicted to them for about 5 years, 50-60 pills a day. You can become physically dependent on trams in as little as 5 days, even taking the prescribed dose.  They are very, very hard to detox from. At your dose, IMO, your withdrawals should start to ease up in about 2-3 weeks. However, then you must deal with the mental withdrawals as well. They are very rough, so you need to find some sort of aftercare program to help you through this. I know exactly how your feeling, but it does get better, please hang in there. Good Luck!~Sherry

Welcome!
Tramadol is a very hard one to quit! They have now made it a narcotic. It also has a antidepressant in it. I stopped them almost 2 years ago, after being on them and norco for almost 11 years. You can do it you are on a low doseI! The first few days are the worst then you will turn a corner and start to feel better. Its like having the flu really bad!  Look up the Thomas Recipe I did that with all the over the counter stuff. Stay on this website for help and to vent!
I was in an accident and had to go back on pain meds but now am 6 days CT and feeling better every day!
You got this!!

What mg are you on? I guess maybe they make stronger but I thought Tramadol was like a hyper Tylenol?  Maybe I should check.  Have you tried taking an ibuprofen and see if that helps? I'm not being smart that's what they recommended for even the strong pain meds.
