I am in a very public job as well. Getting help is nothing to be scared of. Secrets keep us sick. But, if your anonymity is something you're concerned with, don't be. We take that VERY seriously at NA and AA. Nobody there will "rat" you out. I sit in meetings beside politicians, doctors, lawyers, and financial advisers. We believe in our anonymity beyond all else. It's 50 percent of our name!!

Love the username!!!

If you are that opposed to going to a meeting in your area, try a different area.  Lots of meetings around Hamilton and Toronto.  Would you drive that far to GET pills??? You should be equally driven to drive that far to get OFF pills.

If you continue to fight, you will continue to get "beat up".  Maybe it's time to stop fighting and try a different path to your goal.

Good-luck is often with the man who does not include it in his plans.

Godspeed Eh?

When you have really had enough you will move heaven and earth to get clean.  You cant do this alone.  If you cant attend meetings maybe check into an addiction specialist or some type of therapist.  Make you the No.1 priority now and make that move to freedom......We are here for you          sara

You have to really want to do this to succeed. You have to want the clean life more than the drugged life and you will win.Treat your addiction as the enemy and be prepared to fight to win.Arm yourself with all the vitamins and things that will help you fight the fight and take 1 minute at a time.If your mid is truly made up...you will win.The real bad days are over in 4-6 days and after that each day gets better.I know you can do it becuase you have to do it.Keep posting and we will help you.

It's time to make a real effort at getting clean. It sounds like your bottom is here, or very near. It's time to admit that you can't do this alone. The good news is that you don't have to do this alone. Seek out an AA or NA meeting and go this afternoon. You don't have to be clean, just have the want to be clean. Raise your hand and ask for help. Get a sponsor and use them. You don't have to do this alone. The past is what it is...there's no going back. But, work on it 24 ours at a time and the future can be bright.
