Thx ya I figured this.. I have a back injury from being a CNA.. But I want to stop pills
And "Adivan"..Is that "Ativan?"
"Vicadion?" Is that the pain medication Vicodin?
When I went through Vicodin withdrawal this time I had access to Xanax but stayed away for the reasons given by nursegirl above. I'm an addict and Benzo is SO addictive it's scary! 2 Vicodin withdrawals and 2 years ago ago I had Ambien to help with sleep. I ended up hooked on that next. Took me a long time to kick that stuff. No fun at all.
Keep it simple Roni. Let us know your history, especially the length of time and amount you take per day and you'll be amazed how much help you're going to get. You can indeed free yourself from Vicodin and get your life back. It's very doable.
There are other things that can help WDs without worrying about them being habit forming. Switching addictions happens all the time. It happened to me. I took something to ease opiate WD and found out that I liked it just as well. The best thing to do is try to WD without taking something else that's habit forming!
Ativan itself is habit forming. If used short term, it could help to ease some of the symptoms of w/d, but if you have a history of addiction, it can be a slippery slope. You don't want to end up having to w/d from that as well. Benzodiazepine w/d is very difficult, and can actually be dangerous if not done properly.
Teresa asked you some good questions. If you can elaborate a bit on your history, people can give you more specific advice.
Well in what context do you mean? If youre asking will it help ease some of the w/d's, then yes. It has helped some people ease the anxiety and sleeplessness associated with w/d's but it wont stop you completely from having them.
This forum can give great advice and support on stopping. How much are you taking now? for how long? When do you plan on quiting?
