Suboxone, Methadone & benzo's-oh my!
I had all upper teeth surgically removed a week ago. Was on Suboxone -3 2mg films) so my pc switched me to Methadone(10mg 3x a day or as NEEDED) so that Dentist could control the pain via 'Norco' (hydrocodon*/acet-5/325) Note *hydroconDON not 'done'--wth is with making so many dif-but-similar drugs with dif-but similar names??? Enough to mix up even a real DOC! Now, being a recovering addict/self Doc- (LOL, are we not all 'supposed self taught docs-so we think? or is it just ME-hmmm)I got VERY confused esp night after having my head yanked through my rear end-cuz that is what it felt like &it sorta looks like it as well, honestly-(TMI sorry) I got SICK that night-fun fun--but finally adjusted the Methadone so I didn't feel like a heap of crap-along with taking the pain killer I had serious flashbacks of the using days-wondering where can I get this or that, then I snapped back into reality. I guess I felt guilt-felt like I fell outta sobriety yet I was prescribed the meds -l'm sure ya'll know the feeling or had it a few times-
Anyways I take or am supposed to take 2-3 mg of klonopin a day or PRN-as well, which I have taken less of this past week-maybe 1 mg a DAY. Due to all that I have both seen in RL-- with friends on H, & them dying in my arms & bringing them back-Thank GOD I never did that drug, my friends had the sense not to let me or they wanted it all to themselves,lolol, & with all I read in here-I am grateful that I was scared! My Question is-& both docs knew what the other had prescribed me, I didn't and don't shop around, per se, but I feared taking my pain pills after I took the klonopin TODAY! Wow do I SEE GUILTY in every dang sentence I write~& also wonder if I will get physically ill again when I switch back to the Bupe & I DO realize this isn't a large amount, just nosy!! :)
I bet I have asked all the 'doc friends' I have & even asked my son if HE would take that mixture, knowing that we have similar reactions, are close in size--(he is NOT in recovery as of yet due to the fact that just getting to a clinic alone is a giant PITA for him & wife so they do what they gotta do to survive, yes that is another story as his azzz of a dad started feeding him '30's'- isn't that wonderful-??!!??! My kid assured me that if the docs had told me to take whatever-& the drugstore also monitors, then take it, don't BE in pain if I don't have to be in it-! Yet it still seems off to me. Is that good-that my wise mind is getting wise-er? Anyhow if any1 can really make it through what I wrote here & figured it out-then thank you-but I think that I kinda answered my own ??'s. Yeah in a way I wanted to get a little kick out of it all seeing that it was all here, legal and that but I don't want to DIE today!!! I want to just get better-get my NEW teeth & SMILE for once! BY the way- I swear that my teeth all went to the dogs when I started on the Suboxone- at the time I was on 2 of 8/?? mg (the orange stop signed buggas).Now I am on 3 of the 2 mg film which I used to hate - cuz they were DIFFERENT-but am very used to them now & when I go back on them I plan on reducing them to 2 of them a day. I no longer wake up in the am wondering when or how I will score- since being induced onto the Sub or Bupes as they are usually called here- so thanks for just reading this! BTW I

* the methadone was given to me just while taking the pain meds, which I am thankfully off now. THank you for your candor, concern & for your advice~!
Yeah I apologize I guess I WAS a tad off-I just didn't think that my doc really understood all that was going on-& I was leary of taking that-for a minute. I AM an addict, have been on Sub for a few years & have gotten from 2-8/2s to 3 strips of 2mg a day-(I took it in pill form (sublingual)& have an idea they aren't so great for teeth. I also took it upon myself to - Well I DID a TMI. & I frankly am disturbed, about that & me period, I haven't veered from the suboxone since the beginning-*I plan on getting off yet have it around me all the time. I know-change ppl etc but I can't change my kid/family-. I get frustrated with what HE is doing yet still look to him for advice on many things. Yes I talk in circles-was chasing my tail again & I know that-a drug is a drug is a ....... yet at that time I was in R&D mode. I can't talk about this to any1 so I end up blithering-when I DO talk/write about it & with my brain going around that tree.. well I have NO excuse. I gotta buck up & say I messed up. Sorry probably isn't gonna change your feeling about ME as a person- It was a heavy change, not having my teeth & I resort to humor & humiliation.. Back to my normal. I owed ME a response-I asked for it! thank you-
This post disturbed me on so many levels. I'm not trying to be rude but... I don't get it! Its a viscous cycle that it seems like you, your ex, your son, and DIL, are all wrapped up in. Even if you aren't on heroin, addiction is addiction and an addict is an addict..
Methadone may not be your DOC but as you probably know its highly addictive and a beast to kick..(but Do-able) Are you quitting?

That is a very strange post. Are you high on the meds? I'm not trying to be rude I simply didn't understand most of what you wrote.
Is your question will you get sick when you go back on Suboxone? If you wait the time period..usually 36 hours to transition you should be fine. Follow your doctor's instructions.

Btw, it is dangerous to mix Benzo's and Methadone. Did your doctor mention that?
Seriously hun, you need to follow doctor's instructions on this one. Best of luck and I hope it all works out. Again, if you are looking to taper off the Suboxone this is a great place to get help and support.
