As far as the seriousness of the issue at hand..although it may not be life threatning so to speak it is still a substance in which is being abused. I know for a fact that this is a true addiciton because I have a 86 year old grandmother who is addicted to mints. She mentally craves them and eats them all day. She said the cravings are enough to keep her up at night. One can become addicted mentally to anything. May it be sugar, heroin, moth balls, cough syrup, or ones own fecal matter (jenkem)..they are all addictions.

Addiction is a disease and why does it matter what the substance is? People get addicted to drugs, food, sex, exercise, binging and purging, hoarding...I could go on and on. The point is trying to fill an emotional void and the desperation and sadness are universal...The feelings behind it may not be that different from yours. In any case, we are all human and mirrors for one another.

I don't think it would hurt you.....eucalyptus is used for cold/flu....I used to boil the leaves as a tea when my husband was sick.
I would think there would be some irritation to your stomach at some point. Maybe try a lifesaver or mentos or mint gum instead of so many of these all day.
