Norco

I've been taking 120 to 140mg Norco daily for a couple years and want to quit but I'm terrified of the WD's.  Is going cold turkey off this amount dangerous, what can I expect?  I run a business, have kids and a wife that has no idea and would not be sympathetic so I'm 100% on my own.   Please help, can't believe I got myself here!  Thanks

Hey, I went CT from ~600 mg of HC (Norco) a day for five years 11 days ago. It's really hard to do, but by no means impossible. I quite literally took more than you do in a day (14 you say) with morning coffee (what a moron, right :). If you want to make it happen, you can! Do exactly as Lily says, and post often and you'll find a lot of people who know what you're going thru and will give you support. Definitely get proactive about dealing with the WD, there's lots that'll help!

Hi there and welcome! WaterLily gave great advice! You will feel pretty rough for about 5 days! It's is like having a bad flu! You will be very tired, and restless and achy! Definitely check out the Thomas recipe at the bottom of the page! There are lots of vitamins and supplements you can take that will provide relief! Immodium and Gatorade (or similar) are crucial! This is difficult but very doable!

Take care, and best wishes! Please post whenever you need any advice or support! Lots of caring and wonderful people here who can help!! You can do this and you will be so happy you did!!

Hey there, congrats on your decision, the smartest one you will ever make.

No, there i sno danger so long as your blood pressure isn't normally high.

If you can't tell your wife you will have to pretend like you have the flu. This will last about 4 days, and then gets better from there, and the longer you use the worse it will get.

Get stocked up on gatorade, ensure, immodium, and anything else you will need, and hunker down for a few days. Sfter that it will be better, but you will have some mental symptoms. They will go away too.

I am 48 days today and loving life, so will you,
hugs,
Lily

Please, just a couple words, is it dangerious going cold turkey off 140mg Norco, going to do this at home with kids around and don't want something bad to happen with them home??

I've only taken 30mg today and normally I'd be at 100mg by now, I want to start cold turkey now, I just want to make sure it's safe and I don't want scare the kids but have to quit.  All I think of are these pills, nothing else matters and it has to stop..NOW
