The first week is the hardest although day 5 you start feeling more human again. You will have PAWS for a while too. It is post acute withdraw symptoms where some of the acute withdraw symptoms randomly appear from time to time. Don't worry, they don't last long, but they can freak you out because nobody wants to feel those things again. Part of it can be some lingering depression and anxiety as your mind resets its own chemicals back to your baseline. That's why aftercare is preached so much on here. If you aren't prepared to deal with the cravings and paws, it can set you up for relapse. And make sure you have cut your sources. You can't take what you can't get. Good job on 5 days...you are past the worst of the physical. It gets better from here on out.
Yeah I have thought about aftercare and do plan to attend meetings. I am head strong this time and I am in it to win it this time. I have a good support system from my wife as well.
What are you plans after the wd's are over? That is when the hard part kicks in.
Day 5 for me too the fog is starting to lift.Glad to see your spirits are up.Just remember once we cross that line into addiction its a whole different ball game.Ive told myself im done im never takin those again.....And gone right back into the fire ....Have you thought about any aftercare? A/A N/A meetings?
Well here I am on day 5 and I am starting to feel much better. I got some sleep last night and don't feel as down and depressed today as I have in the past few days, as of right now anyway. My head hurts a little, but nothing I can't manage. I do feel a little jittery inside but not to bad. Thanks for all the kind words. Please keep them coming!!!
Ya get some of those natural endorphins goin again.Good to hear your feelin better.....Oh yea watch out for those xanex no need for another monkey .......
Thanks Keith, I went out and walked for about thirty minutes and that helped some too. I was able to keep some food down as well. Seems like my energy level is picking up some. I'm gonna keep slamming the Gatorade and vitamins too. Thanks for the help.
One thing ive learned in my years of abusing drugs is you cant put a time table on withdrawal. If you arent getting nutrition in your body it can drag out.Sounds like you are on the downhill side.......Withdrawal is the easy part staying clean is where the work begins.....
Thanks for the encouragement. I was on norco 5's about 5 a day. Am I close to the end of the physical part ya think?

hi and welcome! yes the first few days were the worst for me.....it does get better.....the no sleep thing was really tough! but just don't fight it....just stay up and watch movies or something funny....read etc....hot baths with epsom salts help with the aches and anxiety...very relaxing....or a hot shower.
just eat when you can...it will help you feel better....drink Ensure or Boost when you can't eat.....just hydrate alot! and yep, the sneezing and runny nose and eyes is all part of the WDs....just hang in there and post here for info and support....ibuprofen is good for aches...if you can take that.
Melatonin helped me to sleep...so just hang tough! you will get thru the WDs.....just make sure you have some aftercare in place for the mental part....Good luck with it! you can do this!
