Subutex withdrawal symptoms came back

My husband has Crohn's disease and was on a few different pain killers for a few years.  They were low dose; the last one being Subutex.  He managed to go through the withdrawal symptoms and get off of the Subutex completely about 4 months ago.  He was probably off for about a month and a half and feeling fine and all of a sudden, his withdrawal symptoms came back and lasted for about a week.  Twice since then this has happened; he will be fine for a few weeks and then all of a sudden the symptoms will come back for a few days; almost full blown.  The doctor thinks maybe even though he was on a really low dose, because he was on it for so long, that when he has stress or pain from his Crohn's it's triggering the symptoms again.  He has had NO medicaition since he went off it originally and never wants to again but we are just wondering if anyone else has experienced this "rebound" withdrawal thing from Subutex and how long it was before it completely went away.

Pretty much a normal thing for awhile,  I do hate to sound like a broken record but have you looked into LDN ?  Do a search on "Crohn's and LDN" and read abt. it.   Also helps with withdrawl symptoms.  I think Sub is pretty tough though,  some on here say it is but some say it has saved their lives too.  Either way opiates, synthetic or not are just demons,  necessary at times, but real heck to get off of.
Best wishes

I have never heard of this. Once a person is past the initial physical withdrawals, which I guess can last up to a month, the rest is mainly a mental recovery. After a month, most drugs have cleared the system. I would normally say that other opiates have been taken and stopped, which would cause the withdrawals again, but you say he hasn't taken any other meds.....so, I'm not sure what could be happening to him.   Maybe someone else will have more answers. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Hmmmm?  I agree that it makes no sense.....that I have ever heard of.  If the drug is "out of the system"  how could it be?....Are you absolutely positive that he has not taken anything?or possibly gotten something from someone and is running out?......I don't mean to insult you in any way, but I've been here for years and have never heard of such.

luv,
Nauty.........
