Tapering of Oxy's - Down to 60mgs from 150 per day

I've gotten myself tangled in a mess with these friggin evil drugs. Got myself up to 150mgs per day and i'm committed to getting off them for good.  I'm down to 60 per day by chipping pills into 7.5 mgs each and taking when the WD's hit and its working so far. I'm thinking ahead to when i get it down to 30mgs per day. Then how would I make it zero??? Are the wd's going to be less because of tapering or should i just jump off them now and suffer for a few days?? Any tips would be REALLY appreciated. Thanks all.

Thanks all for your response. I have to look into this Thomas recipe thing, but I'm sure i wont get my hands on any Valium and nights are for sure worse than during the day. I"m trying the "grin and bear it approach" through the day, but even that little chip helps take the edge off and I agree I'm just prolonging it but I thought the WD's would be less if I taper down to say 1 pill a day 30 mgs. no? same as if i just quit cold from 150Mgs?

and any advice on how to jump off? I haven't went one day without in over a year. That is going to be a great day. ha not.

Im on day 7 i was using around the same amount as well for a couple years. Tried tapering. For me it was just as bad as going CT. So if your going to stop. Suck it up and  deal with the pains... all the time you were feeling "happy" is just catching up to you. Look at it that way. Have to stay strong dont give in. Its going to be like walking through hell with the evil man himself on your back. The way yu are doing now is just dragging it out honestly. Tell your husband keep you away from it and keep away from anyone who uses them cause yur body will be screaming for them. But after day 4 you start to see yhe light at the end of tunnel. Im still dealing with some WDs myself its going to be veeeerrryyy verry hard one of yhe toughest times of my life. Its amind over matter thing. So good luck gorgeous stay strong. Only you can make you stop. Their IS NO EASY WAY OUT! YOU WILL HAVE TO STOP AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER.

If you have the strength it takes to taper then go for it!! I personally couldn't... If I had them I was going to take them :) we are here to support you no matter what you decide..

I don't really feel like I can offer much advice as Im only 13 days in. I think CT is the best way to go. I could never taper. I told myself several times that I would and it never happened. I have always been an all or nothing person.

Of course, I took subuxone in rehab, but later wished I hadn't. My progress now would be a lot further along. So, I didn't go cold turkey myself, but think that is the best way. In my opinion.

That's a pretty fast taper.  Ideally a taper under your doctor's guidance is best.  But you may want to slow it down.  When I tapered off a lot of drugs at high doses I made mistakes along the way.  Slow and steady is key.  Look into the Thomas recipe.  Whether CT or taper it will help.

I won't way whether or not you should taper or go C/T but I have never been successful at tapering and you will likely get different opinions on whether or not it works.  Wait around for someone other input and welcome to the forum.
