To anyone needing help quitting vicodin..

well it has been 25 days since i stumbled on this site and began my brand new life of living vicodin free and so far everything has been OK i am not complaining i have learned how to not only be a better person but a better father to my child so anyone out there still dealing with this nasty little devil called vicodin just know it can be over if you decide to cut it free and live life without painkillers.it might sound hard at first and it is but anything worth something ain't never going to come easy so make up your mind ,your in the right place and i hope and pray that even if it's only one person that reads this and then decides it's time for me to stop taking this garbage then i will have felt comfort in what i am trying to accomplish here so thanks to everyone who ever helped me and to anyone needing advice about quitting vicodin send a note leave a message or hit up on the thread because you can be clean and start your new life pill free today..god bless you all ..Jeff....

Jeff...keeping me typing is keeping me from calling my "friends"  You are helping.  Just being available to chat with is very helpful.  I am so scare to tell my doctor about my abuse.  But, maybe that is what I need to do to get whatever help she can give me.

Your awesome Jeff, Thanks!!

Idk...I haven't taken anything since yesterday morning.  I have 7 10mg dones and I have been reading the pro's and con's.  I know I don't have control over this, but I think cold turkey is how I'm gonna have to do this.
What do you think about Suboxone.  I've read a little about that. It just seems like trading one drug for another. I finally told my other half about my abuse.  He's known that I take pills but he didn't realize how much. He said he would hold my pills for me so I wouldn't take more than I am supposed to, but I think that would make me hate him.  I don't want anyone to have to deal with my "pill monster".   I feel stupid that I have let this control my life for the last 20 years.

I have made the decision to quit.  It started with codeine, vics, norcos, oxys along with the muscle relaxant Soma.  Anywhere from 80-160mgs daily.  My most recent dosage is 6 norcos and 4 somas 3-4 times a day.

I tripped over this website looking for an answer.  I have been taking various opiates for almost 20 years.  I need to stop.  I spend half my paycheck feeding my addiction.  How do I start to stop???
