how much is to much

I have been secretly taking Vicodin for almost 7 years, I take 1 750 mg a day, do you think it is harming my liver?
I am trying to tapper off and now I am cutting a 550 into 4 and only taking one quarter 2 times a day sometimes 3.

I hate this addiction and I'm so scared I am going to die from taking it but just always think of excuses why I need it

Hi and Welcome!   You are on a very low dose compared to most of us on here.  Some of us have taken as many as 20 a day!     We started out taking one or two a day and just kept adding more and more.   That would be my concern for you is that you start taking more.   Since you have been taking it daily, you may have some withdrawal symptoms, but nothing like what we have been through.  If you start cutting your dose and staying at the new dose for a little while, then cut your dose again and keep doing it, you shouldn't have any problem.   Once you are completely off them, the hard part is going to be living without it.  It's been your 'friend' for years now and part of your routine.   You need to cut your source so when cravings hit, you can't give in to them.   Are you planning on any aftercare or support such as NA?   You can do this!   Congrats on taking the first steps towards being pill free!!!
