Trying to calm down

Help! Last night was horrible! About a week and a half off tramadol and last night was my first night with no Ambien:( I took melatonin and maybe slept an hour total! I had horrible RLS all night, does anyone else get that when they take melatonin? I felt fine all day and as soon as I took it and laid down, my legs started in BAD!! All morning today I was sooooo tired and drained, now that I finally have s chance to nap, I'm awake!! I don't know what to do, I'm so panicked right now:(

You will have a "rebound insominia effect" from the Ambien for a couple nights.  It's VERY addictive....did you wean down before you quit taking it?

Also, if you're only 10 or 11 days off Tramadol, that adds to it.  In early withdrawal a lot of people find nothing works for sleep for awhile.  ALL your neurotransmitters are re-setting and re-regulating.  They are doing that from the Tramadol as well as the Ambien.  It's tough; just don't fight it, get up and do something until you feel like laying down again.

Melatonin actually helps with RLS, according to the Mayo Clinic... Chances are the Ambien helped you sleep through it before. Keep trying the melatonin, it's a really safe, natural thing your body already uses... I've really struggled with not sleeping and rls so I definitely feel for you though =(
