2nd WD from Hydrocodone PLZ READ

I quit taking (2 yr addiction) vicodin 7.5 x 8 per day this past october. Then, my doctor prescribed tramadol for my pain tell me it was non-addictive. Boy, was that was wrong!  In order to withdrawal from the tramadol, i started taking vicodin 7.5 again (dumb i know.) i have now been off of the tramadol for 12 days and I have been off of the vicodin for almost 72 house. I took 10, 7.5 vicodin per day for 10 days. Being that the tramadol has been out of my system for 12 days, and my vicodin relapse only lasted 10 days (of 10 pills per day) how long should the withdrawals last???? PLEASE HELP. Thank you so much.

i don't understand addiction!!!! I have been taking Vicodin for at least 5 years 6 5/500 aday... I may do the this for 6 months to a year... but understand I GOT PAIN!!! I could have stronger pills, but i want to be able to function!!! Do i crave these pills, NO!!!! There are times when i can tolorate a lower pain level, when this happens i stop taking vicodines i may be off of them for 2, 3, days of maybe a long as a 10 days.. Only thing i notice is my pain isn't driving me nuts, only reason i start taking them again is because of PAIN!! What my concerns are is what is all this 500mg of the other stuff doing to my stomach and rest of body...
WHAT THE HELL IS ADDICTION????? good god man i quit smoking 2 packs a day not because it was bad for my health, i didn't like the taste of cigarettes any more so i stopped and never even thought of returning... To me i think addiction except for the heroin class drugs is all in the mind... People are addicted to TV....  Now because of "quote" all these people claiming to be addicted to vicodins they are considering removing from the market!!! Don't get me wrong, I do personally a few of individuals that are addicted to vicodins, they are not taking 5 or even a 10 a day, they are in the 50-100 a day category, I asked them if they started on a normal prescription, most replied yes but by the 5th day they were taking 15-20.. the 2 others got theirs on the street.... If you haven't got the mind set to quit then dont start!!! and quit whining.... People on these sites are qoing to put me in a world of hurt if i have to find a different pain reliever. It took me awhile to regulate my intake, i know that if i am in pain, and take a vicodin it wont ease up for 30-45 min and it will be ok for 3 hrs later i wait another half hour to take my next one there are rare times i need 2 to knock down the pain and if needed 2 more in 4 hrs... but this is so rare...  I know my pain well, living with it for over 40 yrs. It takes time to develop a system to make the meds work for you.... In the meantime there is much suffering and stress...

hello.  I can tell you that in the about four/five times that I have gone thru withdrawals, it really didnt matter how much I had been taking, the withdrawal lasted 3 or 4 days for me, the hardest one was 7 days until I slept good.  The last time I did this in Nov. I was down to 2 then 1 a day (lorcet 10s) and still had the same withdrawals just not as bad as coming from a 10 a day to nothing.  That is all I can tell you about me.  You should starrt to feel better soon I would think.  72 hours and it is out of your system I think.  So hang in there, it should get alot better!  Good luck to you.
