Welcome...I can't comment on using Trammel to taper; I'm sure someone else on the forum will be along with an answer (for some reason, the forum slows down a bit on the weekend, but you will get an answer).
What I can comment on is the detox...I too used Norco 10s, 8 to 10 a day, for almost three years. I went cold turkey. The first four days were hell - I need to be honest with you - BUT, if I had it all to do over, I wouldn't change a thing. I needed to go through what I did, and now I see it as a blessing of sorts.
If you are truly ready, then this is a good place to be. When the detox starts, drink lots of water/gatorade, eat when you can; if you can't eat, drink Ensure. You have to keep your body nourished. Take walks; hot baths help the creepy-crawly feeling. But, most importantly, make sure that ALL sources are blocked. You will face massive temptation during withdrawal; your head will talk to you non stop, so if you are able to access pills, you probably won't make it. Then, once you're finished with the worst of the physical detox, the mental challenge of staying clean kicks in. Dealing with the little pro-pills voice in your head is a life-long struggle, but it does get easier the longer you're clean. I'm approaching 6 months clean, and I promise you, there is life after pills, and it's pretty great. Good luck...Keep posting.
Did you mean Tramadol? Never heard of trammel. To answer your question yes it is safe to stop cold turkey. Opiod withdrawl they say is not dangerous. Just expect pretty bad withdrawl symptoms for 3 to 7 days. A taper would help but as I found out as an addict its almost impossible to do if your addiction is always telling you "more, More"
Tramol is Tramadol in the US. It's an opiate like drug with an antidepressant component. I think they're just as bad but a lot of doctors have their patients use them to wean off the stronger opiates. It's up to you.
Don't do it!! Stay away from them no matter how bad the withdrawal feels! You'll get just as addicted to them as any opiate out there that you could take! Just go on and bite the bullet and get the WDs over and done now, and don't mess with the Tramol. It's such a bad idea. I spent a considerable amount of time addicted to them, and I'm telling you that they are twenty times harder to stop than a regular opiate!
Good luck! Up to you, but I'd hate to see ya do it! : )
