One Year Clean.....

Yes, I have come a long way. I am one year clean from Oxy Contin today. DOn't ask me why I decided to quit on New Years eve, but I have found that when you push getting clean off, you are not ready. And I was indeed ready. I got through it with the help of all of you. The people here and this forum have literally saved my life. I came here almost two years ago, completely lost in my addiction. I was scared, had just lost my husband to an overdose and had no clue what to do. No one knew about my addiction and I was alone, literally in my drug induced coma. I found support, guidance and tough love here and it got gave me the motivation I needed to start the process of getting clean. I learned that withdrawal is indeed the easy part. Its staying clean and keeping up with your recovery and after care that is crucial in maintaining your sobriety. To all of you that were here back then and helped me, I thank you. And to all of you that have come since and helped me with your storied and kept me on this path, I thank you to. I try to do all I can to help all my friends here and to help any new members.

I hope that everyone here has the same goal. Again, thank you all for everything.

To answer you, as of now, one year post..there are no residual side effects that I have except for the occasional wanting to use. But, I am prepared to have that temptation forever. As there is no way to stop it. As soon as it hits, I try to do something else...anything else...and it goes away.

When I stopped last year, I did have residual w.d for about 3 months. For me, energy..natural energy didn't restore itself until about 3 months in. And I mean, where I had energy daily and not just in spurts. For me to sleep more then 3-4 hrs a night, took about a month. I would say after one month, I was sleeping 7hrs a night again. My RLS lasted almost one full month. I was also addicted to severely high amounts of oxy contin for about 4 years.

Girl you sure have come full circle I have watched you struggle get better struggle some more then it clicked and you got it and got clean !!!!! Now look where you are you are having  new baby and are clean and happy that is what life is all about .
