No, they should not be taken together. Sub depresses your breathing so adding a benzo onto to that could be dangerous. Now, that having been said, did I take a VERY low dosage of xnax as I was going down a few mg's when I was on Sub, yes I did. But, I wasn't supposed to.
Hopefully you are doing this with your Dr monitoring, yes? Sub for 10 months is a long time. What is your plan to get off it? On May 20 you said you were on 3mg and wanting to get off. Now it's 4mg. I would recommend a pain management Dr and see what options you have. A slow taper of 1/2 mg per week or so. Continue this down to a crumb. Then a crumb every other day and then even every 3 days. then quit. Take your time. It will be uncomfortable but it should be gradual enough that you can still function normally.
You can take them together but as girlybuff said you must be very careful. I still take ambien sometimes and every once in awhile xanax. My doctor said it was ok but def no alcohol with these. They can cause your resperatory system to slow way down and even stop if you take to much. I would not use a benzo daily and as little as possible. Goingtomakeit is right this should be done with a doctors supervision.
I tried the long tapering process and it just does not work for me. Why, does it mean I am not ready. Well, this is how I should do it. Take 2mg from 2morrow for 3 days and then go to 1mg for 8 days. On the fifth day of the 1mg, I'll stop drinking my benzo's for 48 hours so I could get max benefit from it for the next couple of days. At day 9 I'll jump off from the 1mg. I have myprodol, sleeping medication, alpralozam and buscopan to help me. Any advice, how does this sound?
