Sorry you're going through this
Im on day 6 off methadone and find the mornings to be the worst. Especially a dreary one like today. If you can get up and move around do something it helps. I dont have a cure for wd's but this site and the people on it have halped me get thru the last 5 daeys and Id be happy to help you. Try and stay as positive as possible and think of the time you already have in.
Hi & Welcome! Congratulations on Day 2 off Subs.
Just wanted you to know that you're in the right place & that you're not alone. Can you tell us what dose you made the jump from & how long you were on them? (It would help us to get a better read on your situation. Thanks!) Subs have a longer half-life than most opiates & store in your fat & bones tissues. So, it takes a little more time, to get it out of your system than semi-synthetic opiates. A good plan is key to a successful detox. If you go to the search box & type in 'Thomas Recipe', you'll find all sorts of useful tips to help ease symptoms. Have you set aside time to do this in? Is there anyone around you who can lend support/help you out?
I hope you're going to feel well soon, too, but it's important you know & accept that it may take a week or so to get through the acute w/d's. Your system needs time to heal/readjust. So, please, try to be patient with the process. Good hydration is really important & will aid in flushing the Subs from your body. (at least 2 - 3 liters of water per day.) If you have the runs, Imodium as directed will be your best friend. You CAN do this. (You're stronger than you might realize & you're worth it!) When you can't sleep or your symptoms are particularly difficult, stay close to the forum & post for support. You'd be amazed how many folks in your position got through the w/d's by staying close to the site. You might also want to read/follow other posts & journals. (It's pretty inspiring!)
Please, let us know what you're thinking & how it's going. We're here & we're pulling for you!
First of all, don't look at the big picture, take it day by day. Once you have finished one day, celebrate, celebrate that you made it. To those that have no gone through this have no idea how huge getting one day behind you is. I hope you are working with a Dr to help get you through this safely, that is so important. Know that you have people here that have gone through or are going through this same situation, just don't give up, you can do it.
