The only thing i can say about dreams is, keep in mind that i am not going through withdrawal, but I do have chronic pain.  I dream so much about pain, pain in different parts of my body.  Sometimes the pain is inflicted on me other times it is just there and I don't know how or why it is hurting.  Then I wake and guess what I am in pain.  It is so annoying, I look forward to going to sleep so i won't have to feel the pain for a while but don't ya know it i dream about pain.  Just seems I can't get it to stop hurting whether I am awake or not.  Truly annoying and very exhausting.!!!!

I'm sure you don't care gyver but there is something you need to know about dreams in general. Look at having such strong dreams as a great thing because what is happening is you are entering the deep sleep state which I have yet to be able to get into in the last month. It's a very essential process that everyone needs to have. The nightmares no doubt suck and I know the tripping feeling however at least you are sleeping. At least you are sleeping though and the fact you are DREAMING tells me you are sleeping more than you think you are. Every minute in that dream cycle helps you in more ways than you can believe.

You and I have talked through some pm's and you have told me about the other thing in your life you have cut ties with. I do believe dreams try to tell us stuff and scary dreams are common after we first get clean. I am going to copy you an interpretation about these dreams, not sure if they are true, but I go to this site to read when i remember a dream and they seem accurate. Here is what i just copied to the meaning of your dreams as this site says. Like I said some may think it's bogus, but this is what it said.

Pain

To dream that you are in pain, signifies that you are being too hard on yourself, especially if a situation was out of your control. It may also be a true reflection of real pain that exists somewhere in your body. Dreams can reveal and warn about health problems. Consider where the pain is for additional significance. If the pain is in your neck, then the dream may be a metaphor that you are literally being a "pain in the neck".

To dream that you are inflicting pain to yourself,  indicates that you are experiencing some overwhelming turmoil or problems in your waking life. You are trying to disconnect yourself from your reality by concentrating on the pain that you inflicted to yourself.

Knife

To dream that you are carrying a knife, signifies anger, aggression and/or separation. There may be something in your life that you need to cut out and get rid of. Alternatively, the knife may be symbolic of something divisive in your life. You may be attempting to cut ties or sever some relationship.

To dream that you are wounded by a knife, is symbolic of masculine or animalistic aggression.

I still have those dreams, and Ive been clean for 3years. I think its all **** with have done to ourselfs, And then our minds thinks its time to play games. I was in your shoes, I would do almost anything not to sleep, because of how real the dreams our. I have some dreams that are so real that in the dreams Im loading my pockets with all the drugs and as soon as i wake up I start tearing the house just know i hid the drus.

its very common, and im sure almost everyone on here has had them at some point in time..when you are awake im sure u can agree that its hard not to think about pills when you are going through withdrawals right? the same thing goes for when your sleeping..its the biggest thing on your mind at all times..my dreams were always about relapsing so i wouldnt really call them scary, i was always more relieved when i woke up that it didnt really happen..just hang in there, they will go away
