Withdrawal Symptoms before withdrawal

I have been on methadone for pain quite some years and clonazapam for the past 3 or so for anxiety.  About 2 or more years ago the methadone just quit working, I continued to see my Dr.  telling him that I had pain, this was after going off of the methadone and trying suboxone for pain, when the pain would not go away the Dr. put me back on the methadone.  90mg.  30 three times a day.  my clonazapam had the same thing happen, one day it worked and the next it stopped.  If I tried a different pharmacy it would work again and then not work the next day.  I was told by a pharmacist that the only reason the meds would stop working were because they were introduced to a high temperature of heat.  I've been off of the methadone numerous times only to return to excruciating untolerable pain, to return to the methadone because of the benefits of pain relief and not being high.  For the last 9 months or so, maybe a little longer I have had withdrawal symptoms or all of the side effects for the two medications that could possible be listed even when I was not taking the clonazapam, I had side effects.  I am now taking 60 mg. of methadone, trying to get off of the methadone to become eligible for other pain treatment.  I didn't know where to ask this question.  The 1st reason I started taking the methadone was due to heroin abuse,  which I started to kill the pain from a car accident.  I had dabbled in heroin use prior to my car accident.  But have been clean for many years now, thanks to the methadone.  I am fearful of going off of the methadone due to the fact that I may use again due to the pain.  I should not be in withdrawal since I have tapered myself down to the 60 mg and have been at that dose for quite some time.  I was given an NSAID called Mobic to reduce the pain from withdrawal symptoms but have other side effects from that, like withdrawal symptoms when I take it, I for one did not see any of these symptoms that I'm having as a side effect on the drugs information pamphlet or research that I've done on the medication.  I also took a laxative relieve the constipation from the methadone that I've rarely ever had in all the years that I've been on methadone.  Why would I all of a sudden start having these side effects after not having them for all of these years.  I can understand building up a tolerance to the medication but not having all of these symptoms and side effects with whatever medication I take. I didn't think taking docusate would give me more constipation or pain in my joints.  The doctors I have been seeing don't have a clue as to what is happening with my body or the meds,  I need to know what kind of Doctor I need to be referred to to fix this problem,  I am now itching from taking Docusate and Mobic.  I've taken Docusate many times before with no ill effects.  Just the normal outcome.  Why would I have all of these withdrawal syptoms and no diarrhea?  Not that I want it, I just want some answers and some pain relief.  I am tired of being nice to people when I feel like crap because of the pain. I wake up everyday feeling like I've been run over by a mack truck, and now I have withdrawal on top of that along with a host of other problems.  Like being afraid to go places due to not being able to take my clonazapam, which has had a reverse affect on me, it causes panic when I take it, If someone could just point me in the right direction to get my answers I would gladly appreciate it.

I tried that not long ago but was unable to tolerate the ibuprofen and NSAID drugs due to a hiatal hernia, reflux, and stomach bleeding  I am trying the Mobic for pain while withdrawing from the methadone which is a ibuprofen drug, once again the Dr. didn't listen to me or read my medical history of having blood clots in my legs and that I have Hep C. I myself have been on a dose of methadone that high, I didn't like the fact of the constant pill popping I had to do, that was after I got off of the liquid handcuffs for addiction when they told me I had a pain problem  not an addiction problem, yeh I thought that was funny! After having high blood pressure since I was 21 yrs. of age this doctor also told me I don't have it, on my 1st visit. LOL!  Is there a certain kind of doctor I should ask to be referred to?  Thank you for your welcome,  blessings and encouragement. Blessings to you and yours also.

HI and welcome to the forum..sounds to me like you have built up a tolerance to all your meds...the benzo's will quit working after a wile and you cant just stop taking them you have to go off slowly to avoid seizures as for the methadone I got up to 150ml and it quit working for pain it took 6yrs but eventually even 150ml wouldn't work any more...I think its time to clean your system out and see where you stand with pain its going to take a wile to taper off both of the drugs but your no longer getting any benefits from ether so whats the point in taking them...thats why I went off the methadone...now im in less pain now then I was on the methadone and now that im narcotic free I find things like regular ibuprofin actually work now so I would suggest you detox your body and start fresh keep posting for support wile you do this will try to help you thew it but consult your doctor b/4 you do anything good luck and God bless....Gnarly
