yes I'm still on the klonopin, my doctor decided it was a better choice for longer term. So far so good, I've had NO panic attacks since I've been on it, my mood and anxiety has been a lot more steady since then too. I'm so glad buspar works for you! Most people won't even bother giving it a chance, but I've heard it works for some. At this point for me I'm just going to stick with what works, thankfully I've never abused benzos. Opiates were the drugs that I had a problem with abusing, and that ended 101 days ago! :) Hope you're doing well today!

Thank you for you concern. Are you still on the Klonopin?? I almost asked my doctor for somthin else, like Klonopin or Valium but I knew that with my addictive mindset I would become addicted to them just like I was to xanax..my doctor put me on buspar for anxiety...it actually worked for me...which is a shock because it sounds like it doesnt work for alot of people. I also recently became addicted to vitamins, lol. I take the womens heart health pack from gnc, gaba 720 to help me relax, and melatonin to help me sleep-and it works wonders!

To kitten284: I personally use buspar and it works for me...but if that doesnt work for you maybe u should ask your doctor if there is anything else..in the meantime try some vitamins, go to your local health food store and talk to the person in charge, they know ALOT and can point you in the direction of a good natural anti-anxiety..I was told that L-theanine is like a natural valium..i couldn't find it at my local place though, so they gave me gaba 720...I don't know if I like that though. anyways, good luck to you and God bless.

What can anyone suggest for anxiety?  Buspar, Vistaril and valerian root have never helped me.  Are there any other things out there (new maybe) that I'm unaware of?

I feel for both of you! Xanax withdrawal is horrible and also dangerous. sounds like both of you have passed the danger stage of it though. I'm sorry you both had to go through that and still are it sounds like? I had horrible w/d symptoms just tapering off of xanax recently and then when I got down to almost no xanax they put me on klonopin because I still have bad anxiety.I hope you both feel better soon! :)

Things are getting better, I agree..I have a doctor appointment tommorow just to make sure everything is goin good...

just read your note to me and thanks i will be happy to compare symptons, what were yours like? for me they were horrible,i had insomnia, anxiety, dizziness, blurred vision, night sweats, hot flashes, major mood swings ,heart palpitations, chest discomfort(like a tightness and pressure in my chest where I thought i was gonna have a heart attack)brain fog ,nightmares when i did sleep, nausea, diahreah(spelling?) god i never want to go through that again it is day 14 for me and i am still dizzy at times and nauseous, plus i am now having uncontrolable anger issues and my vision is blurry at times but all in all i think i am getting better   i saw my doctor wednesday and really let her have it for not warning me about the side affects and how quickly you can become addicted withut abusing the drug. I also told her i never wanted another drug like that as long asi live!!!!!!!!!

I'm so glad when you quit CT that you didn't have any serious problems. Xanax ct are dangerous. But glad you got through them.
You should be starting to feel better everyday from this point. But everones body is different and sometimes it takes a little longer to bring your body back to baseline.

Your dose was very low, so I'm assuming you were using it for sleeping problems?
If you do suffer from anxiety than some of what your feeling could be the anxiety reering it's head again. Sometimes when going off an anti-anxiety the anxiety you were treating suddenly feels worse and more severe.

Going for walks is a great way to build up your endorphines which will make you feel better. Especially spending time with your dogs. Animals have a sensativity to human emotion and physical pain and can be a great comfort when your sick.

But unfortinitly no one can tell you when all of these things will subside for good. But they will. You won't feel like this forever.
Uf you do have an anxiety issue than you may need something non-narcotic to replace the xanax. Basically if any of what your expereincing now is being brought on by anxiety it needs to be treated like you were being treated with the xanax. There are many other otions for anxiety and sleep that are non-narcotic.

Anyway, I'm rambling. I hope you start to feel better every day. If you don't maybe you would want tto think about making an app with whomevere prescribed the xanax.
