If you wake up and first thing you think about is that little pill...freak out when you are down to the last few, and are buying them illegally or running out before its time to refill your script....you are addicted!!! I knew I had a problem when I would wake up and did not have any...and did not want to get out of bed because I knew the day was going to suck without them...I didn even realize it was happening to me until that day....I was terrified of running out, stopped sharing with my best friend and became very anxious about the whole thing.....Addiction *****...it creeps up on you when you least expect it and BAM your toast!!!!!!!!!!!!

I truelly believe if ur asking if ur an addict 99% of the time u r whether its physical dependancy or a full blown addiction.for the original poster yeah 200to300mg is a lot.its pretty clear u r taking a lot when u go out.

Like Bama said, there is a fine line between dependency and addiction.   Dependency is when you only take them as prescribed.    You don't hoard, stash them for emergencies, etc.   When dependent you will have withdraw symptoms when abrubtly stopping them.   Pain killer dependency can occur over a period longer than a few weeks.   Once that happens, your body depends on it to feel better.   Addiction is when you can't stop thinking about them, take more than prescribed, counting pills, worried about running out, they run your life to where you can't do anything without having to have pills with you or take some before doing anything.   I look at it like this; if my Dr prescribes me a medication and I miss a dose and my body starts reacting to missing the dose, that is not addiction.   However, if I am thinking about when i can take more, actually taking more, seeking out more, running out early, then I have a problem.    Most all of us started out taking prescribed meds and in time we built a tolerance to them and needed more and more to get the desired result.   If that is where you are at, then you might need to discuss this with your Dr.   But be careful because more or stronger doseages just makes it worse.    Good Luck!

I didn't mean to hit post. Was going to say to Koodie, glad your asking now. Hope your daily pill allowance isn't too high. Since you asked, you prob are. Nows as good as time as ever to quit.

Posting here is great!

I'm 24 days clean, but not the original poster here. I was basically since I needed one to feel ok in the mornings, I was fitting in your criteria.

Hoping that the poster sees its not just being out on the streets looking that makes you an addict.

I didn't need to feel normal mentally, I needed to feel better physically. I honestly would faint unless I took the morning pill. So I learned I had to set an alarm, and take the pill, go back to sleep, and a couple hours later when woke was fine. And on my banking days, that maybe only pill I took. But still feel I'm an addict.

Unfortunately the stupid pill brought up my BP to normal. Hence I wouldn't faint. Fainting all the time now.

yeah your addicted i would say. an addiction is classified by when you "need" something to make u fgeel normal rather as social users don't need it they just want it. if i were u i'd quit

I didn't buy illegally, seek out, my RX's always lasted. I banked pills though. Taking 200-300 mg roxies when going somewhere, 30-60 on days home. This was for pain reasons.

I decided to ct b/c I believe I'm an addict because I needed one in the mornings. Yes I had pain but I needed to wake up. I slept so deeply, mornings I was dizzy, until pill kicked in.

Day 24 now. My anxiety, which I always have had, about killed me first two weeks off. I couldn't leave home, have my skin touched, listen to voicemails, call anyone, or even go outside to get the mail.. Someone might see me! That's better now, mostly.

I figured I'm an addict b/c I did take everyday. In ways not prescribed.

Hello and welcome. In my opinion. And this is just mine there's a fine line of depedencey and addiction. Addiction is when you seek out the drug or meds. Doc shop. Or get extras to get ya by till the next appointment or the need to take one to feel normal. Dependamcey is well being dependent on them. Do you mind sharing more info. Like why you take them and how long amd how many. Just to start a conversation and to jelp and or support. No judging here. Just support.
