Forgot what I really wanted to ask

I got so wrapped up in fear I forgot to ask my question
I am presently on 20 mg; 3 x day of methadone.
This morning I took 15 mg. my afternoon dose was 20 mg and I will take 20 mg this evening
I thought I'd stay at 15 mg for one dose for a few days and see if I felt anything and if not, go down another 5 mg.
OR should I try going down 5 mg on all 3 doses-that would be 45 mg a day not 60 mg.
Opinions?????

Do not try to do this too fast......a common mistake I see here is people doing just that - let your body adjust to a lower dose for a week before you drop another step.... if you get down and relapse its not good..... from my experience a 15mg a day reduction is too fast......................you will know if you try -----

Theeagle is right,15 mg a day is way too fast if you are going to taper.Read sadinmichigans journal entry pertaining to methadone,it might help to answer some questions for you.All the best.....Kim

appreciate your comments-and you were spot on...today I had to take my usual 20 mg dose and early also..I guess that means I'll be taking 5mg jumps every few weeks forever and ever.
I am just so pi55ed about not being told of the negative side effects of methadone when I was first Rxed it.
Also--  opinions on this-I get my script monthly-go pick it up from the clinic.  I am doing this counter to my docs advise.  Do I just keep picking up my usual RX until my next visit w/her?  I see her twice a year-not due in until January and I wanted to be way way down by then-maybe get some support from her for the balance of the titrating.
I know it's my decision but curious about others opinions.
