Where can you go to type in your name and see if you have been put on the red flag list for narcotics.

It's funny, but sometimes I think they do take this a bit too far! I can remember an incident that happened to me about 8 mos ago! I was taking pain pills for my shoulder, I was in the process of becoming addicted, but not quite there yet.  It was on the weekend and my ear felt like it was going to explode! I went to the ER for treatment! They treated me like a drug seeking addict! I was not trying to get pain meds, I had plenty! I fully stated up front that i was taking prescribed meds for my shoulder pain! What I needed was an antibiotic for an ear infection! They kept asking me about my horrible pain! They told me that I was not getting any pain pills! I told them I was not in horrible pain and I was not asking for pain meds! I had pressure in my ear and I needed to be treated for an ear infection! It was truly awful! Finally they did prescribe ear drops to treat the infection! But I felt frustrated and humiliated! Like I said, sometimes they take things too far and are way too quick to pass judgement without any evidence!

There is a system in place in Ohio. Not sure if its a formal system but ,,,

I remember being set up by a urgentcare doctor.  I went in with legit back issue from lifting weights...,,,,then she started asking me baited questions,,,like hmmmm  "what's going to make this all better ?  What do you need from me to make things right?  ..I said you tell me you're the doctor. Then she said she pulled some chart of mine and started telling me what i have been prescribed for the past year...then gave me a lecture on dr shopping..i wanted to say "bitc_ I was hoping for cortisone shot "   not your basles opinion.  I never even brought up meds....

I think now a days they are profiling for drug seekers...I was not seeking.

anyway...........i forgot about that incident..but be careful....dr. shopping is a huge flag..second is paying cash when you have previously used insurance.

If you're even having this discussion...things may be gettin bad for ya...

You're welcome here
Much support

be careful as is just a matter of time. This opiate abuse has made national news and is a main focus of my lobbists. Back when, the main pain killer was tylenol 3 which was only 30 mg of opiates, now docs are prescribing the 7.5 hydros without thinking twice. Sometimes the 5.0's or even the norcos 10mg. More and more people are becoming addicted and not even aware of it. the biggest reason for me to take them was the energy levels. I remember when i used to take a 7.5 or a 10 first thing in the morning. about a 1/2 later i was off and running to do what ever. Now that im on a taper i only take 1/2 of a 10 and dont rush out as before. The public is not aware that having a build of of 70 to 80 mg of opiates is very addicting. Docs dont tell us that!

That kind of list exists here in Tennessee as well as narc prescription tracking lists, but you as an individual cannot access it.

It must vary from state to state. I have kinda heard of it as far as people questioning if it exists, but there isn't one where I am.  Or I WOULD BE ON IT! LOL

Several states have started using a universal "tracking" system if you will, to help cut down on the abuse of narcotics.  You'd have to research that info for your state, but I doubt you'd be able to access it.

Thing is, you you THINK you could be on it (if there is one where you are), then it's probably just safe enough to assume you ARE.

here in florida there is a system in place where all pharmcies are conneted to a person name and a red flag does come up when a scrip is filled for opiates. This information is sent to the doctors themself that mulitple scrips are being filled for the same med. What usually happens then is you will get a call from you doc saying he is releasing you from his treatments or will give you the notice on your next office visit. This is for sure.

I don't think it exists.  A doctor may redflag you from being able to receive drugs in that particular clinic, but trust me......if anyone ever would have been redflagged, it would have been me!  There is no system in place!

I have never heard of that system. How could anyone with legitimate reasons be put on a red flag system> Unless one is doctor shopping, even then I dont know how they would do that. There is alot of privacy when it comes to doctors and medications.
