cold turkey

I have been on vicoprofen 7.5 200 for almost 3 years 4 times a day {usually more} and i decided I have had enough, I want to feel body again and know how bad I really am. I also take Roboxin, Ativan, Predosone, Paquinel and Lexapro.
I am almost 72 hours with no vicoprofen now but it hasnt been easy, what can I expect now and when should I start tapering off the rest of the stuff because I am giving it all up??

Vicoprofen was my DOC.  I'm sure you arent feeling the full effects of this due to you taking the other meds.  You will need to be tapered off the other ones you are still on.  Does your doctor know you are quitting all meds?  They can help you with a taper plan.....As for right now, make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids, eat bananas or other bland foods.  Your pain may increase for a bit but it will get better.  Keep posting here and letting us know how you are doing.........sara

Congrats on 72 hours!  I would think that you could expect it to slowly get better from here.  What are you experiencing now?  Sweats and chills and diarrhea?  If so, that would be pretty normal.  Insomnia is normal too, as well as low energy.

The other stuff really has to be tapered, as you said.  Your doctor would be the one to help with that.  I wouldn't be in a huge hurry.  Just one step at a time!!!!

Good luck!  Let us know how you are doing!

Hi & Welcome,

One thing at a time. The Vicoprofen--are you feeling any withdrawal symptoms and if so, what? We can help you with some home remedies and otc supplements to ease the process.

As far as the rest of the medication, you should speak with your doctor and set up a plan.
