Help

Hey everyone,

Well it has been 126 days since my last Tramadol...feels great! Yet I am STILL in a very bad fog. I work at a computer everyday and today, I can barely type without hitting the backspace every few words. I feel like I can't concentrate on the keyboard or see the keys correctly at times. Once in a while I will feel "brain zaps" too.

I do wear glasses (not horrible vision), but I feel like my vision is very blurry at times too even with my glasses. I just can't concentrate on anything and have a hard time thinking and working.

Today I also realized that I have been taking Ambien (Zolpidem) on and off since I quit Trams. Could the Zolpidem be affecting me this way or is this a normal process of Tramadol healing? Today is just really bad, that is why I posted. I have such a hard time with things. For example, Before I go grocery shopping I will make a list of everything, but when I am at the store, I just walk up and down the aisles and can't even think straight. This is not normal! Any advice would be appreciated.

I am at close to eight months free from oxycodone and sometimes I am a little foggy too. It scares me, but I am using amino acids to help jump start the circuits upstairs-it really seems to help.
I also use melatonin and amitriptyline to help with sleep, but am finding they leave me groggy, so I am weaning off them.
I think of it this way: I spent a long time dulling myself with pills and booze, so it is naturally going to take some time for my thinking to clear up entirely. In fact, I use this as part of my recovery, every little bit of progress I make mentally and spiritually each day I really do not want to sacrifice to a pill that will only set me back horribly.
I do technical work myself and feel self conscious sometimes, but I have learned to put faith in the "new" me. Most of the time the results amaze me! My emotions are more balanced and I feel much better being clean.
I guess what I am trying to talk you out of is self doubt Kylie. That just adds stress for me.
Just trying to send support.

Kylie, I'm 4 months clean. I took ambien for a while. They made me VERY depressed the next day. Very drugged out too,. I hurt so bad I had to take something to get some relief. It got to where the pain was the lesser oft the two evils. I took amitriptyline for about two weeks to get off the ambien. It worked but it also made me very depressed. So I quit it. I am now drug free. I did take an ambien two nights ago I was hurting so bad, Woke up VERY depressed the next day. Long story short I wouldn't take the ambien. hope I was some help. God Bless

Oh and I do get enough sleep...most of the time. I have a 5 month old baby that still gets up every few hours but I only get up for maybe 5 minutes to get her a bottle and then fall back asleep right away.

I did take an Ambien last night..but this doesn't always occur. It is just really bad today. There have been times when I would go a week without taking the Ambien and I don't really feel that different. Do you think it would take more than a week for the Ambien to get out of my system? I am just really confused as to why I am so foggy today.

Hi- Congrats on 126 days!   I would think that the fog would have lifted by this time...Are you getting enough sleep? Did you take Ambien last night?

Have you thought about staying away from the Ambien and trying more natural sleep meds?  Then you would know if it's that or not...
