day 12...feel like i fought mike tyson and won

Some of u might remember me...I posted a few times....I on day 12....past couple days were great....today was my wifes bday....instead of going out out just me her and my 2 little girls went to dinner then a firework show....first time for me in a long time wit no pills....I was more anxious today than on day 4....holy lord I was...but I beat it ...and only 1 time did my wife ask if I was ok....that a good thing tho...that means I was doing my thing ....lol......sorry to boast but I great victory for me and hope an inspiration to all who read.....happy 4th without happy pills...

Great start my friend, very proud of you, and your positive attitude is outstanding. The anxiety and cravings will subside and very soon you will just LIVE YOUR LIFE. Be aware of triggers,  or bad situations. If they do get in your way just swat them aside and say I'm never going back to that life again.

Good for you at 12 days. I will caution you about claiming 'victory' and 'beating it' at this stage though. Many have relapsed thinking they have overcome their addiction and in the clear now at this early stage. Be ever watchful for your brain to start remembering old times and romancing pills again. When you start feeling safe, that is when you are likely unsafe. You are an inspiration to others and when that 12 days turns into 120 and one year you'll be an even greater inspiration. Please, boast away. Need to hear more stories like yours. And it is normal to feel some anxiety during public outings. I'm going to a 4th of July gathering tomorrow that I've attended for 15 years on pills. 6 months clean and VERY anxious.
