Hi!
I haven't been around in awhile so I'm just catching up with your story.  I am sorry about the crash, relieved that you and hubby are in one piece, and so PROUD of you for your choices!  This is a major turning point for you in your life.  Learning from our past behaviours and working hard to change them is the fuel of evolution!  Thank you for posting your story, I know many forum members are terrified of having to take opiates for pain issues, and your journey is truly inspiring.

Take good loving care of yourself and I wish you a speedy recovery!

You should be proud! Opiates do have their purpose, and you have used them for what they are intended... relieving pain. Great job. As said above, so many of us, myself included, are afraid of how we will react if we need the meds for legitimate reasons. Well, you have shown that one can have a plan and stick to it and behave responsibly. Major kudos! And I, for one, do not consider this a relapse :)

Hi sweetie! Of course you shouldn't think you had a relapse. There is a proper time and place for opiates, and your situation was one---errrr, two of them.  ;-)  You may need some more sometime--I'm playing devil's advocate here---and you had a positive experience with what could easily have turned back into the same old problem. So that's good--you passed this test and didn't freak at taking just a few, and you didn't cave and gobble the whole bottle. That's how normal people act! Some addicts go into absolute panic mode even thinking about being in a situation where they really are going to need opiates for genuine pain relief. And while you will always need to be wary of them, YOU are ultimately the one in control. I am so proud of you!
I hope you can find a really good chiropracter. Did you get an MRI of the back to see what you're dealing with? How is hubby? I wish you both complete healing without complications, and soon....xox
