emotional support

Here I go again, quitting ct. I have been using for about 6 years. I took lorcets, 7.5mg, about 12 a day in the peak. Lately when I relapse, I take about 6 or 7 a day. I quit on may 5, and lasted 12 days, and called the Dr. This time I did things differently, I posted here for the first time, and told my Dr. I have problem. I really don't have a question, Ive been down this road before. I really just need emotional support. I pray God heals everyone on here of this addiction. God bless

i saw your reference to "this is the first day of the rest of my life"? is that from the song."love will hold us together"?

for those of you that dont know the song.check out the link and here are some of the lyrics.
This is the first, day of the rest of your life
This is the first, day of the rest of your life
Cause even in the dark you can still see the light
It's gonna be alright, It's gonna be alright

This is the first, day of the rest of your life
This is the first, day of the rest of your life
Cause even in the dark you can still see the light
It's gonna be alright, It's gonna be alright

the day  (april 29,2010) i picked up my husband from the christian rehab. he had been in this song came on the radio first time i ever heard it. he and i cried so much i was such a blessing and a confirmation that "it's gonna be alright"

sending blessings

HI....good to see you back but wish it where on better terms...im sorry if you take this wrong or if it comes off rude but kicking for 12 days this is not a relapse its just part of your addictive cycle your brain never recovered from the detox in that short of period of time
I know this is hard I was under its spell for 16 1/2 yrs I know the in s and outs what you need is a plan and by calling the doctor was a good start once your detoxed you need to put some form of recovery care in place we always recamend N/A or A/A because there plentaful and free you will learn the skills and tools that it takes to stay clean it is the very way we think as addicts that gets us into trouble we can reason ourselfs into anything and we tend to be compulsive if you want to do this you got to want it bad......anybody can kick its staying clean that takes the work I often say this is 1/3 phyical 2/3 mental the phyical is over in a week the mental mind screw goes on its not the pills you crave but rather an escape from something ....you need to figure out what that something is and find a constitutive way to deal with it....I realize these things can be painful to deal with but intill we face off with our demons we will always go back to using...I wish you luck with this detox I hope you plug into some form of aftercare if you prefer one on one there are substance abuse conslors and therapists that can help but this wont just go away because you quit taking the pills.....God Bless.......Gnarly

I am rather new to the sight, but have a long term relationship with opiate detox. Sounds like you know what has to be done. Of course you do, but just want to root you on girl, not just for the detox, but more for the longterm gameplan. I know that everytime I find myself having to kick again, I get so depressed and angry with myself that it can become a vicious relapse circle. So please get a strong support group. Telling your doctor was an awesome start! Best of luck because this is beyond old, for all of us, or we probally wouldn't be here, huh?
