how long will it take to feel normal again?

Today is my first day of trying to stop 30mg oxycodones. I have a 8 to 12 a day habit. I haven't taken any today but I did take 1 10mg methadone. I still feel horrible.

Well I was able to eat some pop corn. Been forcing water down and sweating like no other. Went from being constipated to diarreah non stop. I've lost 5 lbs in 2 days. Mostly crap I think. (Tmi) I feel like my back is going to snap it hurts so bad, but I'm gonna keep roughing it. 5 days I hear is my goal

Thanks everyone. I'm struggling on day 2 and feel absolutely horrible. I can barely get outta bed to use the bathroom. I didn't eat anything yesterday. I did have coffee and cigarettes. :) my inspiration is you guys. And I look forward to reading anything and everything you guys write me. Even if to help kill the time

You have to reduce slowly to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

HI  do yourself a favor and stay away drom the methadone it was never ment to take away withdrawals its a treatment for the most hardcore addicts you dont want nothing to do with it the withdrawals from it are long lasting and horable your best bet is just to jump off and stick it out normally it only last about 5 days then your threw with it some taper but it only stretches out the withdrawals look on the right hand side of this screen look for the health pages in there you will find something callled the thomas recipe it will give you a few things that will help soften the blow a bit.......your coming off a lot of oxy it ant going to be prity but sooner or later ytou have to come off of it its just a mater of being alive or not when you do it force the fluids lots of hot baths for the symptoms and a positive attitude is a must   this is 1/3 physical and 2/3 mental  and I truly believe it is a battle one or lost in ones own mind get comfortable with the saying....'''you just got to be ok without being ok for a wile it will serve you well as you go threw this keep posting for support good luck and God bless........Gnarly

Welcome..I'm in the same boat..Everyone is different but I heard that day 3 is the toughest then things slowly start getting better..I'm sure more people will be on here to share their experiences.

I quit Fentynal and Morphine 2 months ago..Cold Turkey...Now I want to get off the rest of my meds..Oxycodone (percs) and Soma...Have not had any luck tapering..Everyday I'm in withdrawal because my body wants the same amount it had before so I'm seriously considering dropping these CT too..Best Wishes..Anj
